EPISODE 18
Alicia has had a hectic day and is exhausted by lunch time.
She looks at the clock on the wall, it is a quarter past twelve and remembers she is having lunch with her brother nearby. Standing up quickly, she logs out of her computer, rans to the washroom to freshen up and comes out shortly afterwards to pick her bag. She fishes out her car keys and heads out.
Dorcas smiles warmly at her when she stops by on her way out. She really admires her courage and her hard work.
“I’ll be out for an hour or so.”
“Okay, Mrs. Owusu Mensah, have a nice time.”
Alicia walks out feeling relaxed especially after Curtis mentioned the Cynthia brouhaha to her. That cleared her doubts and worries. It’s the pictures, she still can’t shake from her mind. Why did he allow her to take pictures of them? It is a question she needs answers to but right now she will shelve it and wait till he gets back. She prefers talking face to face especially on issues like that.

It is a nice place by all standards.
She walks in to a smiling staff who makes it a point to make customers feel very welcome.
Her brother is already seated and has a very beautiful, warm lady for a companion.
One look at her eyes and Alicia knows she likes her.
Alicia greets and takes a seat facing them.
Caleb, a little nervous, beckons the waiter over.
A smartly-dressed lady comes to their table with a lovely smile and takes their orders paying attention to detail.
The two siblings engage in a chit chat to catch up on happenings in each other’s life and soon there seem to be nothing more to say.
Alicia notices Caleb glancing sideways to check if his companion is comfortable from time to time and he is always met by a warm smile by the beautiful lady seated beside him.
“Well sis, I don’t really know how to do this. I asked to see you today for two reasons. One, to see how you are doing since I don’t get to see you as often as we used to before Curtis swept you off your feet. I should have really taken a lot of money from him when I had the chance.”
They all laugh.

“The second reason is to introduce this special lady I have been seeing for over six months now to you. I have every intention of making her my wife in the not too distant future and since you are my favourite person in the family, I thought it is best you meet her first. “Wow, my brother is in love. Pleased to meet you, Julie.”
“The pleasure is all mine to meet you too, Alicia. Caleb says incredible things about you. I am truly honoured to meet you, at last.”
The waiter brings their food right then and all attention diverts to the plates of sumptuous food set before them.
They eat in silence apart from the questions Alicia throws at Julie from time to time.
“You know you should have been a lawyer, the way you like questions, you are wasting your talent in the investment field.”
“Why do you always say that, Caleb. I love my chosen profession. Period.”
“If you say so.”
Alicia admits Julie is special.
There’s something about her that makes you like her even though you’ve just met her.
She likes her already. She only hopes the feeling between her and Caleb is mutual. Easily, she can tell her brother is permanently lost in his love for her.
Lunch is over in no time and the two love birds leave for their business and Alicia heads back to the office.
She has some things to wrap up before she closes.
Alicia is so looking forward to seeing the love of her life later that evening.

[/stextbox]The truth is she misses him so much and just can’t wait to be in his strong yet tender arms.
Painstakingly, she goes over her report for the next meeting and makes all the necessary corrections and additions.
When she is sure everything is in order, she packs her stuf satisfied with the format and content of her report and heads home.
Briefly, she stops at the gift shop for the surprise present she had ordered for Curtis and arrives home to see Isaac’s car in the driveway.
Isaac has been incredible. He has kept in touch with her every day since the news of her diagnosis broke. His daily messages to her have been an inspiration.
Alicia smiles warmly at him and ushers him into the house.
“I’m just passing through. I promised Curtis I’ll check on you before he comes back. I know he’s coming today so I had to make good my promise.”
“Really? You won’t even stay for some refreshments.”
“I think I can.”
“Then take a seat. Will be with you shortly.”
Alicia scarpers into the house, changes into loose clothes and comes back with refreshments.
She sets the refreshments before Isaac and takes a bottle of malt to sip on.
“Has my mum been bugging you still?”
“She’s never bugged me. She’s only a mother who is looking out for a son she loves so much. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. She’s been a little distant but that’s okay. I’ve also noticed a little tension between her and Curtis each time we’ve visited but he insists there’s nothing wrong so I’ll take his word for it.”
“I’ve noticed it too but they are both not ready to talk about it.”
“Ike, can I ask you something very silly?”
“Shoot!”
“How deep was Curtis’ feelings for Cynthia?”
“Now, that’s silly alright! I don’t think you should worry about that nonentity. But if you really want to know then you have to talk to Curt himself. Sorry, I can’t help you on that one.”
“Well, I guess it was very wrong of me to put you on the spot like that. I’ve heard so many things it’s kind of getting to me. So, how is your love life?”
“Mine, there’s nothing phenomenal about it. The girl I want is not even looking at me. She’s so indifferent to me.”
“Indifference is good! It’s up to you to make her like you. You can make her fall so deep there will be no turning back.”
“I wonder how I can change anything since she’s turned down all my date invitations. You know, she’s in my masters’ class and very difficult to read.”
“Maybe, you are going about it the wrong way. Start small. Offer to carry her book, draw a chair for her to sit, walk her to the road side or her car or do something very basic.”
“If you say so.”
“Does she have a name?”
“Nancy. Nancy Elorm Asem!”
“Nice name. Get some basic info about her like her date of birth, her hobbies and stuff like that. We love it when you remember things like that!”
The two play a game of scrabble for a while.
Isaac leaves a bit relieved.
Alicia goes inside and pack an overnight bag for her and Curtis.
She takes a shower and works hard to look good for the only man God created for her.
Hurriedly, she takes the overnight pack which can last for a week to her car and secures it in the booth and checks to make sure the bracelet and necklace she had made for Curtis is in her handbag with a smile on her face.
Impatiently, she is looking forward to seeing her king again.
She locks up the house and gets inside the car. She secures her seatbelt, turns on the ignition, selects her favourite song and drives out of the house.
