SEASON 1: THE EMERGENCE
CHAPTER 13
Chaos At The Palace
For a moment Neji was so flustered that she had to pretend she had not heard what Temi just asked.
“One of what?” she asked softly.
“A male organ?” he asked. “Do you also…pass water from a female organ?”
She giggled then, her beautiful face lighting up with the realization of how innocent and naïve he really was.
“Yes, I have a female organ, quite different from yours,” she said softly. “And no, it doesn’t dangle.”
“Aha,” he said as he pulled up the trousers, which tangled up his legs, and he fell down rather ungainly.
He floundered, but she didn’t want to help him because his organ was still out and not inside the trousers. He lay on the floor wriggling, and she saw that one of his legs wasn’t actually inside the leg of the trousers.
Instead, he was trying to put both legs into one trouser leg.

She sighed and knelt by his side, holding out the trouser leg so that he could slip his leg inside.
Although the trousers was too big for her father – he had bought it in the market thinking it would be a good fit, but it had turned out to be too huge – it looked somewhat small for this sturdy young man.
They managed to pull it up, and he stood up grinning boyishly at her.
“Can I see it?” he asked.
“See what, Temi?” she asked, gasping, but knowing exactly what he meant.
“Your female organ, of course,” he said. “I want to see how it looks like! Since it doesn’t dangle, I find myself quite perplexed trying to figure out how it looks like. I wonder, does it look like a lump, if it doesn’t dangle? Can you let me have a look at it?”
“No!” she cried in alarm and got to her feet, almost sweating. “You can’t see it! I was not supposed to see yours! It is not allowed!”
“You keep saying that, and I keep asking you why, and you never explain!” he said in confusion.
“You can’t see the nakedness of a woman you haven’t married!” she cried, exasperated. “It is not a good thing to see each other naked if we are not married to each other!”
“Aha!” he said, nodding. “Married. Like your father and mother.”
She nodded, relieved.
“Yes!” she said.
He smiled that infectious smile of his and pulled on the huge shirt. Again, it looked tight around his beautiful muscular body.
“And why does your chest look different?” he asked suddenly. “What are those things you’re hiding on your chest? Look quite lumpy and double. What are they?”
“Oh!” Neji Helen cried, totally confused for a moment, and then he reached out suddenly and placed his right hand on her left breast and fondled it gently.
“Aha!” he said dreamily. “It is so soft, with a small hard tip. Is it a part of you?”
As he continued to touch her breasts, one after the other, Neji Helen found her nipples becoming harder under his gentle caresses, and her legs shook rather alarmingly.
She stepped back with a little cry of alarm and knocked his hand away.
“They’re my breasts, Temi!” she cried in anguish. “And you’re not supposed to touch them like that!”
“Aha!” he said softly. “Unless married.”
“Yes, unless married!” she almost shouted.
“Is that why my male organ is…waking up? It started moving when I touched your…breasts,” he said with some great confusion. “Why? It is so hard now, and no longer dangling. It is trying to burst out of my trousers, like some sort of raging animal. Is that okay? Why is it rising up? Why is it all hard?”
Neji Helen was breathing hard as she helped him button up the shirt. She looked down briefly, and saw that indeed the front of his trousers was distended by his fierce arousal.
“I feel very funny, Neji,” he murmured, and his eyes were half-closed. “I feel like I should do something to you, but I don’t know what to do to you. And I feel quite perplexed because there’s a sort of anticipation in my male organ, and I simply don’t know what it is anticipating.”
Neji Helen put her head to one side and stared at this incredibly handsome boy, so lost in his innocence, in his new-found passion! And she shivered, because she had never felt this desirous of any man ever in her life!
Yes, she also wanted to do a lot to him, and she was amazed at the powerful emotions raging through her. With a Herculean effort she took a deep breath and smiled tightly at him.
“Come, Temi, let’s go for a walk,” she said and, almost running, went out of the room, whilst Temi followed more leisurely with a slight scowl still puckering his brow.
***
The next week passed in a blur.
For one, there was no appearance from the spirit of Jhon Moziz after he appeared in to the family.
It was a week of sheer bliss for Neji Helen, as she and Temi were seen almost everywhere together.
They were the envy of the young folk in the town. The girls were jealous of Neji Helen, and the boys were jealous that every girl seemed to be speaking about the fabulous man in the town who had eyes for only Neji.
The last time she had seen the spirit of Jhon Moziz had been a couple of days after the attempted murder of Temi.
The Igwe the king, had summoned Olusegun Osuolale and his family, together with Temi, to the palace.
They had all gone to the palace of the Igwe.
Neji Helen had waited with bated breath, scared that Temi would either be banished from the town or, worse, thrown into the dungeons under the palace.
She was horrified by the evil names that the royal fetish priest, the Ezemuo Adekunle Oyadepo, was calling Temi.
“His presence here bodes evil for this village, Your Highness!” the fetish priest, dressed hideously in a rattan skirt and horrible body paintings, said with a most twisted expression on his face. “He is an obeah personified, a scourge of the evil forces, a rejection of the gods! He needs to be put in the dungeons, and treated like a wild beast, starved and tortured until his death! Only then, would the gods be appeased!”
Neji Helen had stared, horrified, and just as she was about to speak, to air her strongest protest even whilst knowing that it was a taboo for a woman to address the Igwe directly, she saw something quite amazing.
She saw the black-clad spirit of Jhon Moziz floating forward over the heads of all present, and stopping beside the bed of the Eze Nwaany Nne, the Queen Mother, who had been paralyzed for many years after she fell from a palanquin.
Neji Helen looked around desperately, but it seemed that this time, only she and Temi could see Jhon Moziz.
She watched as the Grand Oracle of Dayo addressed Temi sharply.
“Prince Temidayo of Dayo, please come here!” Jhon Moziz said.
Temi scowled.
“What do you want this time?” he asked fiercely.
Now, the Igwe was speaking, asking his Elders what they thought about the prophecy of the Royal Fetish Priest, when Temi spoke.
There were instant cries of alarm and ululation from the crowd in the palace. It was considered a taboo, and a very great sacrilege, for anybody, especially a stranger, to interrupt the Igwe whilst he was speaking.
The Guards of the Palace raised their swords and spears, but Temi didn’t even seem to see or hear them.
“Come here and touch this woman, Prince!” Jhon Moziz said sharply. “These people want to harm you, and if they do, I’ll have no option than to kill them. But I know how to avoid the bloodshed I perceive. Come and take the hand of this woman, and I’ll heal her. They can’t see me, and so they would think you did the healing!”
“Well, fair enough,” Temi said and stepped toward the Queen Mother.
There were screams of fury now as the guards rushed toward him.
“Temi, be careful!” Neji Helen sprang to her feet and screamed, no longer caring about the custom she was breaking, only concerned with worry for the life of her prince.
Temi lifted the hand of the Queen Mother just as Jhon Moziz had directed, and she began to vibrate as Jhon Moziz floated across her body, seeming to touch her with the lighted tip of the long staff in his hand…
And then the woman who had not sat up for more than three years suddenly sat up straight on the bed as Temi pulled her up gently, his handsome face filled with wonder.
The fierce guards came to a halt!
There was hushed silence and stunned incredulity on the face of everyone present!
The Queen Mother was weeping with joy as she stood on her feet and pulled Temi into a tight embrace, her joy evident!
The Igwe got to his feet, trembling with acute shock, and approached his wife.
“Heey, my love!” he whispered, tears of disbelief in his eyes. “You’re walking! Has the pain subsided?”
“He healed me, my love, my King!” the Queen Mother said quaveringly. “I can’t feel any pain anywhere!”
They embraced, and the king claimed the lips of his wife in a passionate kiss as their tears mingled.
With an angry gesture Temi of Dayo grabbed the Igwe by the scruff of his neck and lifted him up so that his legs dangled feebly in the air!
There were screams of chagrin, and the Igwe looked at Temi with surprise.
“Why are you biting the poor woman, you wicked old moron?” Temi asked fiercely.
Neji Helen gasped with horror and rushed forward with great fear in her young heart.
“Put me down this instant, you disrespectful oaf!” the Igwe cried with much fury because he felt so undignified to be lifted off the ground by such a young boy!
Temi dropped the Igwe, and he landed hard on the floor on his backside, causing him to wince rather painfully.
Neji Helen fell on her knees in utter supplication in front of the Igwe, and she was promptly joined by her parents who reached out and touched the Igwe’s feet with reverence and fear.
“Forgive him, Your Majesty!” she cried with acute fear. “And please forgive us too! He’s but like a child! He has been blind all his life, and regained his sight only two days ago! He does not understand the ways of adults, especially the happenings between a man and a woman! Indeed, he does not understand what kissing is! This is his first time of seeing two people kissing, and alas, that is why he foolishly taught you were biting your wife! Forgive us, Your Majesty, and do not react to his folly!”
