THE LEGEND OF DAYO
SEASON 1: THE EMERGENCE
CHAPTER 12
Neji And The Naked Prince
“And how possibly could that painful condition keep evil away from me?” Temi shot out angrily. “I was bullied, beaten, abused! I couldn’t see or hear a thing! Also, I couldn’t speak! And you call that protecting me?”
“Yes!” Jhon Moziz almost screamed. “The ways of Dayo are not the ways of humans here! We have evil incarnate that could have seen you through the windows on your body! Your eyes, ears and mouth are windows that could’ve triggered a trace to you! The evildoers in Dayo don’t know you exist, my Lord!”
“Oh, evildoers!” Temi said with a confused scowl. “And who might those be?”
“They’re wicked workers of the dark arts who would’ve killed you in a second if they had known of your existence, and so I had to hide you completely in the cutaneous crust to keep you absolutely off their radar. Now that you’re out of the protective crust, your voice, your eyes, your ears will send signals, and they will come for you, to kill you like they killed your father, who was the king of the Dayo Empire!”
“Surely, you say nothing but lies!” Prince Temi cried, his voice anxious and unhappy. “How am I to know that you’re not even a part of the evil you speak so ill about?”

I tell you there are finer damsels than her in Dayo, all at the snap of your finger! Finer, more buxom, grander! You have to return to Dayo!”
Neji Helen felt her heart flipping with a fear and strong jealousy with these words, and indeed this little piece of emotion greatly troubled her! She had just seen this man, just for a few minutes, and already she had these strong feelings about him?
But Prince Temi was moving toward the shrouded figure of Jhon Moziz, and his young face was filled with wrath.
“I don’t want a thousand damsels, and I don’t want a million damsels at the snap of my fingers!” he said in a tensed voice. “It is this one I want to be with! Whatever trouble is in this Dayo you keep talking about…surely, it will solve itself out! Surely there must be other siblings, older siblings you can count on!”
“Your mother is trapped in a dungeon, and your sister is trapped on a tower!” Jhon Moziz screamed. “There are no other siblings, no other prince! Your father was murdered! You’re the only prince, the only redeemer! Can’t you get that into your head, My Lord? We must leave, at once! The longer you stay here the greater the danger you’re exposing these people – and indeed this whole town – to, my dear Prince Temidayo of Dayo!”
“Enough!” Prince Temi said, highly agitated. “Enough, magician!”
He walked past the shrouded figure, and with a cry Neji Helen got to her feet and walked after him. The spirit of Jhon Moziz began to follow, but she held out a hand to him.
“Please, he’s confused!” Neji Helen said quickly. “Let me speak to him for a while, please!”
“Take the wool of your charms from his eyes, earthly maiden!” Jhon Moziz said harshly, almost angrily.
“I’ve not done anything to him!” Neji Helen cried with sudden anxiety.
“Yes, Spirit, leave my daughter alone!” Grace Opurum said. “She’s done nothing but care for that man! Can’t you see the boy is scared?”
“Scared?” Jhon Moziz asked, turning to face Grace inside the darkness of his hoodie. “Scared of what? He is the prince, and fear has no bed in his spirit! It is your daughter, the girl who refused to use the delights of her body and the softness of her core to bring him out…and who now wants to keep him because he now appeals to the fancies of her heart! Bah, Earthly Maidens…always full of trappings and everything vice!”
“And I really don’t appreciate the way you address my daughter, Mr. Jhon,” Olusegun Osuolale said carefully, but obviously agitated. “But he is still a boy, sir. He has been trapped inside that prison all his life! This is the very first time he is seeing the world, hearing his own voice, speaking for the first time…and you go and tell him a whole empire is depending on him for salvation! That is scary for a young lad!”
The spirit of Jhon Moziz swung from one side of the room to the other with clear agitation.
“If my ways seem brusque, it is so for a reason!” he said finally. “There is no time to waste, because the Jade Portal will open in just a few days, and if we don’t make it out of the portal it will take another eighteen years before it opens again!”
“The Jade Portal?” Uche Joseph asked with evident interest.
“Yes, dear sir,” Jhon Moziz said. “It is the portal that links Dayo to Earth! No one from Dayo can enter Earth unless the Jade Portal opens, and vice versa. We must go through, and that is why I’m so hard on the boy!”
“Relax, dude,” Uche Joseph said. “Let my sister explain it to him. He might listen to her.”
“Humph! Your sister explain indeed! Her nether lips had been trembling and sorely agitated, craving his royal rod somewhat fiercely! Alas, just look into her eyes, and you will notice the overflowing magnitude of her lustiness!” the spirit muttered, and then it disappeared with a violent clash of wind.
“Woow!” Uche Joseph whispered with awe.
Olusegun Osuolale and Grace Opurum looked at each other.
It was evident that they were very worried indeed.

Neji Helen followed Temi into the room they had allotted to him.
She was surprised that he found his way so quickly, without being aided, but she said nothing.
He stood in the middle of the room, looking around in an agitated sort of way. She closed the door gently behind her, and he turned toward her sharply, his handsome features filled with worry.
“I don’t want to go anywhere,” he said, almost fiercely. “Why won’t he understand that?”
Neji Helen smiled at him out of a worried face.
“Can we not talk about that for a while?” she said softly. “Come, let’s go for a walk. Would you want to walk with me for a while?”
“I’ll walk with you everywhere you go, Neji,” he said softly.
And that changed the mood immediately.
She felt the tension in the air, and it surprised her greatly. She was the type of girl who had avoided the attentions of the boys with determination. Both at school and in the village she had tried not to get into any relationship.
It wasn’t out of any high moral ladder but simply because she hadn’t found any boy who had convinced her that she couldn’t live without him. She had known that eventually she would have to find a man, and settle down. Indeed, she wanted to have a family of her own someday, but her studies was now the prior focus of her life.
She was beautiful, yes, and she had had to fight off the advances of many a male, but she had always remained resolute. There were even some male teachers in the school who were bent on defiling her, but she had kept out of their ways, and where they had threatened or tried to blackmail her she had instantly taken her case to the headmistress, a woman who took no nonsense and always defended her.
But now, here she was, absolutely swept off her feet by this handsome young stranger who had appeared out of a most grotesque mask.
She sighed worriedly, alarmed by the strange feelings running through her.
“Alright, Temi, let’s go,” she said hollowly. “But you can’t go on like this. You have to take the cloth away and wear some proper clothing.”
“Clothing?” he asked, confused.
She smiled and picked up one of the trousers he had been wearing.
Next she took a coloured shirt from a peg behind the door.
“Yes, these,” she said. “You change into these.”
“Alright then,” he said, and promptly untied the cloth around his waist and dropped it on the floor, and then faced her, absolutely naked.
“Oh!” Neji said, shocked as her eyes roamed the length of his body. “You can’t do that!”
He scowled.
“Do what?” he asked, sounding confused.
“Take off all your clothes and stand naked like that!” she said, acutely flustered.
“And why not?” he asked, still puzzled. “Moreover, you told me to change into those things.”
“Yes, yes, I know what I told you!” Neji Helen cried. “But that doesn’t mean you should show…everything like that! It is not done! It is not acceptable!”
“And why not?” he asked defiantly. “Why is it not acceptable? Isn’t it logical to take everything off before I can put something else on?”
“You can get naked when you’re alone!” she said desperately. “But when there’s someone with you, it is not good to be naked! Especially if the person with you is a girl, or a woman!”
“Why are you so agitated anyway?” he asked, still scowling.
Neji Helen pursed her lips, and then she turned her back on him finally.
“Please, Temi, get dressed,” she said, breathing hard.
“Alright, okay,” he replied, and picked up the trousers.
Neji Helen waited, breathing hard, waited, and then he spoke.
“Ah, what’s this?” he asked.
She turned, and gasped with shock when she saw him holding up his limp manhood in his right hand and looking at her quizzically. “It is the thing the water comes out of, right?”
Neji Helen stared at his face quizically, trying to see if he was playing a trick on her, and saw the innocence written all over his face. She was very affected by the sight of him holding up his male organ, and she could feel her knees trembling slightly.
This was the closest she had ever been to a naked man, or seen a male organ this close up. Of course, she had seen Uche Joseph’s own when he was but a boy, but those were many years ago, and quite different from the circumstances now.
“Yes, Temi, that is your male organ,” she said in an unsteady voice. “Now would you please put on the trousers?”
“Alright, okay,” he said and dropped his organ. “Do you have one? I mean, yours might be a girl organ, right? You do have one, don’t you? Is it also dangling downward like mine?”
