Temi’s skeletal body was snatched up and mangled through the sea!
He could see horrible shark-like creatures in the sea that opened their horrible mouths and bit into his body with fiendish fury, tearing his flesh away in chunks, leaving a trail of blood in their wake!
This was more horrible than he had expected, especially when one of the monsters sank its jaws into his head! Temi experienced the unbearable agony of the monster’s sharp teeth crunching into his skull and biting half of it and half his face away, leaving his brain shattered!
Another shark slammed into his stomach, sinking its teeth into his burnt belly with excruciating pain, and tearing it away with his intestines following!
Temi could not take it, and for a moment his mouth opened to let out a scream of horror and pain, but instinctively he clamped his teeth shut, and didn’t scream!
And then, thankfully, he was free of the sea, and his body hurtled through the air and finally crashed into a serene pool of water that felt incredibly cool and wonderful!
He went deep into the pool of water, almost to the very bottom, and he saw that his body was still shattered by the rocks, burnt black by the fire, and the rest chewed off by the sea monsters!
He looked like a hideous half-skeletal monster, and this was such a horrible sight that he began to laugh, wondering what had happened to him, but then he began to ascend slowly toward the surface of the water, and as he did an amazing thing happened…
Temi saw his flesh forming anew!

It began from his fingers, new beautiful strong fingers, growing rapidly into arms, and travelling to his shoulders!
He was underwater but he could breathe, and he held up his arms with indescribable wonder raging through him. He felt a queasy feeling in his belly, and when he looked down he saw that new flesh had formed over his stomach, ripped and so beautiful, covered with a lovely down hair, and then his chest appeared…strong, bulging and beautiful!
Prince Temidayo burst onto the surface of the water and found himself floating. And, standing on the pool of water beside him, was the black-clad figure of his father.
King Demi was smiling with indescribable love on his face, and with tears in his eyes.
“Welcome to the rebirth, my son,” he said tenderly.
Temidayo smiled, and there were tears in his eyes too.
“It was horrible, Papa,” he said.
King Demi nodded.
“I know, my son,” he said as he reached down, took Temi’s hand and dragged him to his feet so that Temi was also standing on the serene lake. “It is always so frightening.”
“You experienced it too?” Temi asked breathlessly. “The fall from the door in the sky?”
King Demi nodded, smiled and put a hand on Temidayo’s shoulder.
“Yes, all the kings of Dayo went through the Leap of Rebirth before their impartation of skills, and someday, your son will also go through it to become king.”
“But why didn’t you tell me about it, Papa?” Temi asked with a chuckle. “It was so terrifying! I almost screamed!”
King Demi gasped and took a step back to look at Temidayo with shock on his face.
“You didn’t scream?” he asked numbly. “Not even once?”
“Oh, I wanted to, but I checked myself,” Temi said with a giggle. “Through the rocks, and the fire and the sea…I didn’t scream.”
“My goodness, Temi, my son!” King Demi said with sudden adoration and pride on his face as he looked at his son. “I screamed at the Boulder stage! I was so terrified, and I fell into the lake of rebirth straight! My father, your grandfather, also screamed at the Boulder stage during his time, and also fell in the pool of water! No one had been able to go through Earth, Water and Fire! My goodness, son, you’re braver than all of us!”
And as Temidayo watched the pride in his father’s eyes, he knew that he had just passed from childhood into manhood, and he smiled with great happiness even as tears bubbled in his eyes.
“You made me proud, son!” King Demi said and embraced Temi tightly. “I can’t wait to see how much of The Circle you’ve drawn!”
“The Circle?” Temi asked, intrigued.
“The Circle of Kings, yes, my son!” King Demi said excitedly. “You see, you’re now a man, ready to be king! The Leap of Rebirth is falling from the door in the sky, and if you’re brave enough, you will pass through Earth, Fire, and Water to be reborn, just like you did. Then, based on your bravery, the spirits of past kings of Dayo would appear and fill you with their fighting skills! That will make you a warrior! When the spirits appear, they’re supposed to be in a circle. In my time I was very scared and screamed, so I just drew five spirits that formed just an arc!”
Temi smiled broadly.
“You think I will draw more than five spirits of past kings, Papa?” he asked breathlessly.
“Oh, yes, yes, my son, definitely!” King Demi said excitedly. “You went through all three phases…oh, I can feel them coming! Stay still, Temi, my son…The Circle of Kings is beginning for the impartation of your skills!”
Suddenly, Temidayo saw a black line appearing in the pool of water about hundred meters away from him, and it began to move slowly in the water, drawing an arc that increased into a semi-circle, and then it paused.
“A semi-circle, goodness me!” King Demi whispered hoarsely. “I’m going to see many more of my ancestors…oh, wait, it is continuing!”
Temi turned and watched…and then he giggled as the black line continued to move until it formed a full circle on the surface of the lake!
“Full Circle of Kings!” King Demi whispered, his eyes almost bulging with disbelief and wonder. “You’re going to meet all the past kings of Dayo, my son! Your bravery has brought all of them back to take part in your Impartation!”

And then, quite suddenly, the black circle erupted into flames!
It was a great wall of circular fire burning on the surface of the lake, completely around Temi and his father, and then a gentle film of cloud began to appear on the surface of the water just in front of the fire.
King Demi smiled tenderly, still looking dazed.
“Welcome to The Circle of Kings, my loving son!” he whispered almost reverentially. “I have to take my place now!”
King Demi glided across the pool of water to take a standing place against the burning wall of fire.
And then, they began to appear!
Great, bearded, spiritual men dressed in black.
Tall and handsome, appearing one by one!
The spirit of Temi’s grandfather, King Temidayo David Dayo, whom Temi had been named after, appeared next to King Demi. The spirit of Temi’s great grandfather appeared next to King Temidayo David, and then the next ancestor and past king appeared, one by one, each standing next to his son until they had formed a great circle!
The last to appear was the first king of Dayo, King Demitayo Oliseh!
It was such a grand sight to behold, so profoundly strong was the passion he felt that tears of joy fell down Temi’s face as he stood in the middle of such a great circle of his ancestors!
He felt he had come home!
Finally, he has reached the beginning of his destiny!
They all looked at him with wonder and great love, and this filled him with strength.
The spirit of King Demitayo Oliseh glided across the water and stood facing Temi.
Temi smiled gently to himself.
He glanced at his reflection on the serene lake, and indeed he was impressed with what he saw. It was really a rebirth because he looked different. He was taller, more masculine, and indeed more handsome than he had ever been. Yes, he was happy and proud! He was the youngest king and the only one who had gone through the three stages of rebirth without screaming with fear!
Indeed, he was the only one to draw the full circle of kings!
He had always doubted himself, and Daniel Godwin had always taunted him. They had called him inadequate and weak, and he had almost believed that. But no, he wasn’t weak at all. He was brave and special!
Temi’s self-confidence boosted, and he smiled broadly as he looked at King Demitayo Oliseh. His shoulders were up and proud, and the angle of his head was a poise reminiscent of a real Dayan king.
He was the Chosen One.
And he was now ready for the final act that would make him complete and undisputed.
“Bring on the Impartation,” Temi whispered gently to himself. “I am the One, Prince David Temidayo Dayo of Dayo!”
