EPISODE 14
Yaw Boat bolted upward in the bed, startling Esi who had been fast asleep. She sat up on the bed too and stared at him. The light was off, but the huge flat screen was still on, and its bluish screen light reflected off his handsome, tensed face and his broad, hirsute wet chest.
The air-condition was on, and the room was relatively cool, but he was sweating. Esi, breasts bare, moved close to him and wound an arm around him. She put her face close to his and hugged him tightly. He could feel a slight tremor going through her, and her skin felt hot and a little feverish.
“Yaw, my love, what is it?” she asked softly in a tensed voice.
“There is evil above me, on the roof,” Yaw Boat said in a tight voice. “I can feel them. Get up and get dressed, Esi.”
And when Esi put her other arm around Boat and pressed her hot face against his neck, trembling, and began to weep tightly and passionately, he knew suddenly that something very deadly had occurred.
“What did you do, girl?” he asked calmly.
“Oh, Yaw, I’m so sorry, so very sorry,” she whispered tightly.
Boat moved out of her arms and got off the bed. He barely looked at her as he walked to the wardrobe and pulled on his boxers and jeans.
“Talk to me,” he repeated.
She got off the bed too and approached him. He was now sitting on a high-backed chair behind the table and slipping his feet into his sneakers.
“Last dawn, just after midnight, a man appeared in my room, Yaw,” she said forlornly as she knelt beside him and put an unsteady hand on his knee. “He was…so evil, so very evil. I had seen pictures of him in Pastor Swallows’ study…and I knew him immediately. His name is Duke Swallows, and he is the father of Pastor Tim Swallows.”
“And he set you on me,” Yaw Boat said simply.
She nodded hard as tears fell down her cheeks in torrents now.
“He told me to get up and get dressed,” Esi said painfully. “I could not refuse him, Yaw. He was so scary. When I was dressed, he took my hand. One moment we were in my room, and the next moment I was here in this hotel, in the room next door. He told me you would come and be in this room today.
He wanted me to seduce you, Yaw. Then touched my head, and I screamed over and over because I suddenly saw myself in a pit filled with venomous snakes and fire! I could feel the actual fire burning me, and the snakes striking me over and over! He told me if I didn’t seduce you that was how I would live my life forever! Oh, Yaw! I was so terrified! Please, forgive me!”
“Why didn’t you tell me when you came in?” he said softly. “You saw what I did in your store, and you saw what I did with your mother. Why then couldn’t you trust me with the truth, Esi?”
Her lips quavered, and an expression of sheer horror entered her eyes as she reached out and took his hands.
“Yaw, my love, I so much wanted to!” she whispered. “But each time I tried I found myself falling deeper into that pit of horrors, and it was so nightmarish that I could not speak! It was only after we made love that the pain and the terror stop, just as he said it would! Please, forgive me, Yaw, please!”
It was clear to Yaw Boat now!
Duke Swallows was on the scene to exact his pound of flesh for the death of his son. Obviously, he was a more formidable foe who had the uncanniest gift: he had been able to know Boat would come to this very same hotel!
That was as horrible as it was nightmarish to imagine!
And he had succeeded in making Yaw Boat sin by engaging in the dirtiest of sins, fornication, a sin against his own body, the temple of God! This was the Unblind’s most horrible fall! The one sin that made God turn his face away immediately from an Unblind!
This entity wanted to alienate Yaw Boat from all his divine powers before exacting the most horrible of vengeance on him.
Such pure, malicious evil!
This was going to be a horrible time where death could be a stake in the scope of affairs, and Boat knew just what kind of danger he was in now. He got to his feet slowly and looked down at her dejected form as she knelt on the floor.
“Something bad is going to happen, Esi,” he began calmly.
She whimpered with dejection and got to her feet immediately.
“Oh, Yaw, oh no!” she said in a high-pitched voice as she reached desperately for him.
“Do not touch me now!” he said sharply, and saw the look of horror on her face. “No, I did not mean it that way. That man has got his hooks in me, and something bad is going to happen to me. Now, listen carefully, Esi, because this is very, very, important. No matter what happens, do not leave this room, do you understand? You will stay here until I come back to you!”
“Yaw!” she cried, shaking her head. “Don’t leave me, please! I’m so scared!”
“Do you understand?” he hissed sharply.
“Yes, yes, Yaw!” she responded.
And then, suddenly, the door flew open violently and Esi saw Yaw Boat being sucked backward as if a giant hand had reached inside and pulled him. He was a pathetic sight as he was dragged away with arms and legs flailing. He missed the doorway and was slammed rather savagely into the wall above the door, and then he crashed down hard on the floor.
“Yaw!” Esi screamed and rushed forward but he lifted an agonized face and raised a hand, forbidding her to move.
“Stay!” he hissed fiercely, and then he was lifted up and dragged forcibly out of the room as the doors swung shut with venom!
Stumbling, weeping and terrified, Esi rushed to the door and touched the handle. She just wanted to see him, to know he was alright, but then again, his warning came to mind and she dropped slowly to her knees as her shoulders drooped and the tears of anguish filled her soul.
“Oh, Yaw, Yaw,” she whispered. “What have I done to you?”
***
Boat felt the pain exploding his head as he was sucked high into the dark skies! The crows came at him then with fury! They ripped into his body with mad caws and furious beaks! Their talons gripped him and their beaks shattered into his skin with amplified pain that he had to steel himself.
He was flung down hard on the ground again, and this time around he tasted blood in his mouth and excruciating pain as he felt his ribs cracking. Now he was lying in a forest. He could see evil red eyes looking at him through the dark trees, and discern the evil, ghostly figures that moved in the shadows.
He could hear their mumblings and whisperings and feel their rotting hands touching him with putrid callousness. Boat tried to get to his feet, and then the powerful force gripped him and dragged him through the trees, whipping his body sickeningly against the trees so viciously that he could feel bones breaking in his arms, legs ribs and even his head!
And when he was finally slammed down, he was suffused in so much pain that he thought every bone that mattered was broken in his body!
Blood oozed out of his nostrils, mouth and ears and from uncountable gashes and tears on his body.
He could barely move as he stared up into the face of the evil entity that was looming over him.
He was a giant of a man dressed in a black suit. His face was filled with sheer wickedness and evil, and the mark of the beast on his forehead was not blood-red, but absolutely white.
“You killed my son!” Duke Swallows hissed terribly.
Behind him were evil eyes of demonic entities watching and whispering with glee. The trees were filled with flapping wings of the white crows as they came to settle.
“It is going to be a long, painful night for you, puny Unblind!” Duke Swallows whispered as he dropped to one knee and looked down at Yaw Boat. “You settled with the Legion! I’m disappointed in you, you little punk! Couldn’t tame that dick of yours, right? Had to fornicate, right? Now you’ve fallen from grace and the protection of your master above…and I’m going to kill you slowly and painfully!”
Boat’s eyes glared with fury at this evil entity.
“Are you God?” he whispered softly.
Duke Swallows froze suddenly as he stared at the broken body of the handsome young man on the ground.
“What did you say?” he whispered tightly.
“I sinned against God, asshole,” Yaw Boat said with great difficulty. “I only sin against my Father above, and it is up to Him alone to punish me. You’re not God, you fucking asshole, and you have no bloody dominion over me!”
“Is that so?” Duke Swallows screamed, and fire emitted from his mouth and settled on Boat. “I dragged you out! I have broken your body up because you have committed the atrocity of sin against the temple of your master! And the wages of sin is death!”
Boat felt the fire burning him up, but he chuckled softly.
“What happens between me and my father has nothing to do with you!” he said thickly. “It is against God that I’ve sinned, and it is against him that I have asked for forgiveness. His chastening hand I will take, but my sins against God has nothing to do with you!”
“Sins separate you from your master!” Duke Swallows screamed. “It is written that He turned His back on His own son on the cross because of the sins on His son! In likewise manner He has turned His back on you because of your fornicating sins!”
“Says who?” Yaw Boat whispered weakly. “Do I look like Jesus Christ to you? I sinned horribly, yes, but I have asked my God for forgiveness, and He has forgiven me. Even if He hasn’t forgiven me, it has nothing to do with you, motherfucker!”
And then, incredibly, amazingly, though his whole body was burning up, Yaw Boat got to his feet and glared at the giant demon still kneeling.
“By His scribes on Golgotha I am healed of all infirmities, because I am of the Lord, and yea, I will bend and pick up a rattler by the tail, and it will not strike me, for what lives within me is greater than everything without!”
And when the fire burnt out, and Yaw Boat stood there naked because his jeans had been burnt away and he had lost his sneakers in the frenzy, there was no mark on his body.
Duke snarled and hovered on his feet, his eyes changing into evil orbs of red.
“I controlled you!” he hissed furiously. “And I’m going to kill you!”
“You didn’t control me,” Boat said calmly. “I just wanted us far away from Esi so that you cannot use her as bait against me.”
“I can reach out to her even from here!” Duke Swallows said. “See you, pathetic as you are, thinking space and distance is of import to me!”
“I’ll not allow you to reach out to her,” Yaw Boat replied.
“Nincompoop!” Duke hissed. “See you! You lost your glow! You lost your protection!”
“My force-field will only send you running, motherfucker!” Yaw Boat said, and his voice was filled with such blatant fury that Duke’s eyes suddenly rolled in vicious circles. “I don’t want you running. I want you here, right here, so I can fuck you up good!”
“Ye art a sinner!” Duke Swallows screamed, but there was a sudden underlying uncertainty in his voice now. “Ye committeth fornication, and has come short of the glory of your master! Thy sins are as scarlet as blood in the sight of your master!”
“My sins has nothing to do with you, you dickhead!” Yaw Boat said calmly. “It is up to my Father above to forgive me. I fucked up, just like David fucked up, just like Moses fucked up, you know. Shit, Moses had all that precious tablets stuff God wrote on, and he damn well threw it on the ground, can you believe that shit? Damn! Even Solomon was banging like two thousand chicks…or was it seven hundred, or three hundred? Something like that, but damn, God forgave that poor-ass motherfucker! So, I fucked up with Esi, damn, but hey, my Father, I’m sorry, really, forgive me, okay?”
He chuckled then, and his cold eyes settled on Duke Swallows.
“See, when we pray, we gotta believe God has heard and has listened, right?” he whispered savagely. “So, yeah, fuck this shit. I believe it, man, cause if he had not forgiven me I would’ve died by now. You see, God is a Father, you know, and He takes care of His own, and I am His own otherwise He wouldn’t have made me stand up again! Fuck you, Demon-Man with white shit stain on your forehead. I’m gonna fuck you up so bad even God ain’t gonna recognize your motherfucking ass when I’m through with you!”
“YE WILL KNOW PAAAAIINNN!” the Duke screamed and held up his hands with his evil claws bent, just like he had used to crush Pastor Fad Tremblay’s skull. “YE WILL DIE!”
“Stop that shit, Demon!” Yaw Boat whispered coldly.
And finally, Duke Swallows knew how this Unblind lacked basic knowledge in Christendom, and yet was considered by the Dark Kingdom as the most ferocious and deadliest of the brand of men known as the Unblinds!
