Taxi Driver: (screams) You witch may the blood of Jesus enter you eyes, if they sent you to me erh, tell them you came to meet my absence.
Cindy: Am sorry please forgive me, some wicked person is after me and wants to kill me.
Taxi Driver: Heeeerh? C’mon jump inside let me drive you to safety before it’s too late.
Cindy: (hops into the taxi) Thank you very much, please take me to number 3 King Lexis street.
Taxi Driver: (speeds off) Where is that one? You know in Ghana we are not use to such addresses, the street naming the previous government did has not yet gone down well with us. We prefer using landmarks, known places and buildings to give directions so why don’t you let me take you to the nearest police station so that you lodge an assault compliant to them first looking at the bruises on your face.
Cindy: That will not be necessary, please take me to the address I gave you or betterstill the place is behind the famous Yeb3toaso pub.
Taxi Driver: I think I know that area. Please fasten your seatbelt becauseI am coming to step on the accelerator like there is no brake, I don’t want your detractors to be on our tail because I can’t promise your safety once I am alone with you.
Back at Karl’s Suite:
Karl Simpson: You piece of shit, who invited you to my private suite in the first place and why the hell did you make that slut escape?
Hotel Attendant: Sir I would advice you calm down because you know this is a 4 star hotel where we have very high profile personalities coming here to relax. If they get to witness any sort of public confrontations or brawl, it would tarnish the image of this reputable hotel.
Karl Simpson: If you deal with high profile personalities, do you know who I am? How many of your so called high profile personalities lodge in your private suites you motherfu**ker piece of shit.
Hotel Attendant: Sir I would advice you choose your words careful because some words and attitudes are not entertained over here in this reputable hotel. Please I am pleading with you to be decorum with your choice of words and actions.
Karl Simpson: Oh so now you are walking me through a school you nonentity. Do you know when I started to check in into big hotels? You better get out of here before I beat the living hell out of your foolish life. If your stupid and foolish parent lived a good life, a well built man like your type won’t be working in a hotel as a butler.
Hotel Attendant: Sir if we were all rich like you, do you think the world will be a good place for you to be standing as at now? I think you are acting under the influence of alcohol so please enter your washroom, freshen up and catch some sleep because it will do you a lot of good.
Karl Simpson: (hearing this got pissed off and he tries to attack the hotel attendant) You fool, how dare you call me a drunk person? Your father’s father is the one acting under the influence of alcohol. Infact it is your mother who is a drunk. (moves forward to slap the hotel attendant)
Hotel Attendant: (blocks Karl’s hand and rather slaps him with the back of his hand which makes him fall on the bed) You better behave yourself before I discipline you like a wayward child. No one insults my mother and goes scort free, I prevented myself from giving you a resounding beating all this while because you are lodging here but I can’t promise myself as to whether I will forgive you if you further run you mouth like a tap that it’s handle is broken.
Karl Simpson: (tries to fight back) How dare you raise your filty hand on me you son of a prostitute. I will beat the crap out of you in this very suite and nothing will happen. (jumps to attack the hotel attendant but he is caught in the air)
Hotel Attendant: I gave you the maximum respect but you threw it back to my face and decided to go the rough way. (punches Karl in the face and stomach several times before he throws him back to the bed)
At the President’s Residence:
President R. Mensah: I am home my pretty first lady.
First Lady: Welcome home my heartbeat. (plants a kiss on his lips)
President R. Mensah: I am starving like I haven’t eaten the whole day, what paper are you having in your hand?
First Lady: Oh that is a letter from our daughter’s school. Lieutenant Tiwah just brought it to me some minutes ago. Please come and have your meal before you climb up to shower.
President R. Mensah: Okay but what is the content of the letter?
First Lady: It is an emergency P.T.A meeting that the school authorities are conveying tomorrow at 10am.
President R. Mensah: Mmmm I think I can attend that meeting tomorrow.
First Lady: My king is that necessary, one of the security details can represent us. You know there is a lot on your table for you to work on, what important thing will the school authorities say that they have not said already. I believe the meeting will be about some fees in the school that they possibly want to increase or an educational trip they want the kids to embark on.
President R. Mensah: My dear so if I am the president of the country, does it mean I am no longer a parent? For Christ sake I miss somethings I use to do at first, now I can’t even attend old students meeting.
I can’t hangout with the boys again. We can’t visit the mall and the resturants in Osu and East Legon during holidays. We can’t go to the beach and enjoy ourselves as we use to do, now our lives has been restricted that sometimes even when going to the washroom, you get people following you. Honestly bae, if I thought of these things early on like I won’t give my concern to this hell I found myself in.
Now before I sleep I have to think about a whole nation and how I will run it properly, this evening before I left office, some anonymous person called me to say a whole lot of things concerning how corrupt and cunning Hon. Johnson and Hajia Ramatu are. Have you observed that lately its even hard for me to get erections, look at this powerful machine that I own as my wife but I don’t get time to use it.
I have about five foreign countries I have to visit and when I am back, I swear I will take my first presidential break or leave, the two of us will embark on a private vacation where we will be away from everyone. Even we won’t carry our phones along because its going to be only us away from everyone and this securities, I can assure you that upon our return you will be carrying a presidential baby in your womb.
First Lady: You and your flattery words, please sit down so I warm your food for you. Your sister called earlier on, she said you have not been answering her calls lately. (walks to the kitchen)
President R. Mensah: Don’t mind her, she wants a contract for her husband meanwhile the husband doesn’t have the requisites documents and structures for that contract, they sometimes think I am running a family and friends government. You will give them the contract and later they will disgrace and drag your hard earned reputation into the mud. I last told them to first register their company with Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that they get a clearance but up till now they haven’t done it and she expects me to hand a multi-million contract to them. My led government is not a family and friends governance as some people did, my leadership is upon merits and not favours.
Back at the Police Station:
Inmate: Sir thank you for intervening on my behalf.
Morris : You are welcome but next time if you will use someone’s money, inform the person first before you do so. Money has always brought serious issues between good friends and sometimes blood related people. Notwithstanding, go and find yourself a good job since I know you have lost this current one, gather or save money then come and pay your former boss off so that he will have nothing against you.
Inmate: I have heard you sir and may the good Lord bless you.
Morris: Bless you too.
Station Master: Sir please here is the medical form you will need for the hospital. After treatment you can come back for us to go and arrest him.
Morris: If this guy escapes then I will be convinced that one of you officers leaked the information. Daddy let’s go to the hospital, that Karl guy will spend the night not on his bed but on the bare floor inside that cell.
Back at the Hotel:
Hotel Attendant: (walks to the human resource manager’s office) Good evening sir, please I want to report something to you.
H.R. Manager; (sees the hotel attendant’s face with bruises) Good evening my hard working staff. Oh my goodness, what happened to your face?
Hotel Attendant: A madman in one of the private suites did this to me as I tried to rescue a lady he had with him in his suite.
H.R. Manager: Joseph but you know it is against this hotel rules for you to fight with a client or customer? Again you made a very big mistake by entering the man’s suite to fight him? Are you aware he can file an assault complaint against you and you can be arrested for that?
Hotel Attendant: Boss so you expected me to walk away when I heard the lady crying for help. What if he ended up murdering the lady? Don’t you think that action alone could tarnish the name of this hotel and that it would scare potential clients who would love to come and spend their vacation, honeymoon or leisure time here? If you are going to talk against my actions that has done a lot of good to this hotel then I am sorry for my actions sir.
H. R. Manager: I didn’t mean to castigate or reprimand you for what you did. My worry is that I can’t protect or shield you should the man file a compliant against you. You know the rules very well but all the same, go to the hotel clinic for you to be given first aid because you are bleeding badly.
President Reedolf Mensah surprises the school authority and other parents who came to represent their wards at the school’s P.T.A meeting. After the meeting the headmistress of the school invited him to her office to have a talk with him.
Headmistress: Your Excellency, thanks so much for taking time off your busy schedule to grace our P.T.A meeting today. Actually we were not expecting any member of the first family to attend this meeting. I must confess your presence alone in this reputable school will take us to a new level.
President R. Mensah: Thank you madam headmistress for the warm reception you and your hardworking staff gave to me. Sometimes our politics here in Africa restrict most leaders from doing what they wish to do, I am a father and I should be seen playing my role as a responsible man. I know I have on my desk a whole lot of things to attend to but attending the P. T. A meeting of my daughter is also equally important.
Headmistress: I am happy to hear that, your Excellency, the very reason why I invited you to my office is to bring to your notice the concerns some parents have brought before me. In my hand right now is a letter the administration had typed and printed for it to be brought to you or our mother the first lady. Actually our major problem was how we could get in touch with you so we deliver our petition to you sir.
President R. Mensah: Madam headmistress please what is the letter about? Is it it sponsorship you want or there are some of your staffs who want a recommendation from me to the government sector?
Headmistress: Actually you are very far from what we have for you sir. Your Excellency, most of the parents are complaining of the armed uniform men the children see when they are brought to school. Just last week one of the kids who was enrolled the previous day refused to come out of her father’s call because she saw a military man armed to the tooth standing at the entrance of the school. Infact when it is time for break most of the kids who are scared of the masked armed men refuse to come out and play.
President R. Mensah: Hmmmm madam headmistress I was thinking it was even at your advantage because it was going to drive bad people away from your school now that kidnapping of children had found it way into our country.
Headmistress: Your Excellency, that is what I thought from the beginning when some parents started channelling their grievance to the administration. I was not paying attention to them but it shocked me when within a week I got more than 20 letters from some concerned parents who were threatening the school authorities that they will withdraw their wards from this school if their concerns were not addressed or adhered to, you can go through some of the letters that got to my desk.
President R. Mensah: Madam headmistress no need to go through the letters for I trust you and I have heard you, I will see to it that all the uniform armed men are withdrawn from this place so that the atmosphere becomes conducive enough for the kids to study but I will still have to get security men who are dressed in normal dress to hang around here.
Headmistress: Your Excellency, that is not necessary. If you are comfortable in entrusting your ward into our care to impact knowledge into her mind then leave everything in our abled hands. The security men can come for your ward when we close, by so doing everyone will be okay here. Please this is our humble petition to you our father of the land.
President R. Mensah: Madam I have heard everything you have said and I will do as you have requested. If that is all then I will beg to take my leave and attend to other matters on my desk back at the office.
Headmistress: I am grateful for you gracing today’s meeting once again your Excellency, your presence alone added much colour and meaning to our meeting and thank you very much for finding time from your busy schedule to join us and also accepting to pull your men back from the school premisses. May God richly bless you and continue to lead your path and guide your way always. Mmmm Tom come and take a picture of me and the president together, this is the only God given opportunity for me to get close to the first gentleman of the land.
President R. Mensah: No problem madam headmistress and thank you too for the warm reception given to me, I am also grateful for you trying to cover up for me on several occasions when other parents were mounting pressure on you.
Headmistress: (smiles as different shots were taken with her phone) I hope you took some great and wonderful shots because I am taking this pictures to places and I know my husband will be so jealous of me tonight when I show the pictures to him. Thank you very much sir.
President R. Mensah: You are welcome and have a nice day madam headmistress. (exchanges a handshake with the headmistress and walks out)
Back at Lovia’s End:
Cindy: Lovia please can you help me boil hot water to press my bruises?
Lovia: I will do it on one condition Cindy, you came back home last night with blood on your face and body wearing a hotel morning coat without wearing your slippers even. I had to go out there and settle your transport fare as you ran into this room. You told me you were going to meet your uncle who came back to the country recently so where from all this injuries?
Cindy: I asked for a simple favour Lovia and not an interrogation session with you madam. If you know you won’t do it please say it so I find means to do it myself. Why do you always poke your nose into people’s matter like that?
Lovia: Madam Cindy please don’t channel your anger to me, I was only trying to be a concerned sister to you. I meant no harm at all please.
Cindy: Concerned sister indeed, if I hear anything from you or the other tenants on this compound, you guys will see the stuff I am made of.
Lovia: Your highness, her royl majesty, please I am going to boil your requested hot water for you. Please don’t be angry with me because I can’t stand your furry in this room your majesty, I will quickly boil your water for you so that peace can continue to reign in this room.
Twum Boafo: Junior my son, you made me proud yesternite with the bravery you exhibited. The only problem with you was how to control the arrow when you put it in the bow. I will take time to teach you how you can get full control of the arrow when you point it at an animal.
Junior: Daddy I also enjoyed myself except for the mosquitoes who were disturbing my ears and wrist.
Twum Boafo: Well son nothing good comes easy, now I believe you know what lies ahead of you as you and the other youths will be going for the hunting expedition?
Junior: Yes daddy but I am so very ready for anything that lies ahead of us. I will make you proud of me after the hunting expedition is over.
Twum Boafo: I am happy to hear that, go and rest a bit, by the time you are done resting, food will be ready. When you finish eating you will go through your books then after we will work on your bow and arrow handling.
Junior: Okay daddy but I am missing school also, when are we going to go back to school?
Twum Boafo: I wish I had an answer to this question of yours, the last time I had a chance to sit in a meeting at the palace with the elders and Nana, he said they were now trying to raise money for the reconstruction of the village school because if they wait for the government, it will take decades before we see any facelift of the school building after the strong wind pulled the roof off the building. Now no more questions please go and sleep before you fall sick, you didn’t sleep the whole of last night.
Back at the City:
Pearl: Good afternoon your Excellency, you are welcome and you are looking so handsome and ravishing in your African wear.
President R. Mensah: Thank you very much Pearl, has the meeting ended?
Pearl: Yes please, madam Asantewaa asked me to drop minutes of the meeting on your desk that is why you met me in your office. Your Excellency again I must confess you are looking so handsome and nice in your shirt.
President R. Mensah: (nods his head) Oh that is okay, tell Danny to see me right now and are you done with the dismissal letters I instructed you to type?
Pearl: No please, I am now reading true to correct any typographical mistakes in the letter and……..
President R. Mensah: (cuts in) And what young woman? I gave you those letters to work on them 3days ago and you are not done with it yet. Now get out of my office and get those letters ready for me to sign before 2pm.
Pearl: Very well your Excellency, the letters will be ready in no time. (turns to walk out of the office)
President R. Mensah: (calls her back) Young lady, I love my wife so much and will never cheat behind her so that flirty way you have been looking at me and the unnecessary comments you have been passing on me will not work. If you love to keep your job, then try and be professional about it or I will make you type your own dismissal letter. Do I make myself clear?
Pearl: (bows in shame) It is crystal clear your Excellency.
President R. Mensah: Very well then, you can go now. (takes the receiver of the telephone on his desk to call someone)
Hon. Asantewaa: (on phone) Hello your Excellency, good day. Please have you gone through the minutes of the letter I instructed Pearl to bring to your office?
President R. Mensah: I am now looking through it, please come to my office right now.
Hon. Asantewaa: I will be there in a jiffy your Excellency.
President R. Mensah: Okay ma’am I will also be done reading through the minutes before you get to my office. (drops the receiver as he hears a knock on his door and Danny walks in)
Danny: Good day your Excellency, Pearl told me that you want to see me.
President R. Mensah: Good day youngman, are you done with my Austria and Canada speech?
Danny: Yes please, I forwarded it to your official mail and came over to your office about 2hours ago but you were not in yet, I wanted to allow you settle down before I come to you as your convoy drove in.
President R. Mensah: Okay, I will go through it and get back to you before I leave the office. We are not travelling with the presidential jet this time around so get prepared to join a passenger flight this dawn.
Danny: Okay sir, it was in my plans to go home and pack my things so that I come and sleep in the office till the time is due for us to leave.
President R. Mensah: Well that is not a bad idea but sleeping in the office is a bad idea, go home early today, pack your stuff, have a quality time with your wife and rest. If you don’t trust yourself with time, you can set an alarm on your phone so that you can wake up on time, I will go through the speech you sent me and if there are any corrections, we will work on it. (mobile phone rings)
Danny: Very well your Excellency, I will comply with the advice you gave me and I am on standby for any updates. (walks out of the office)
President R. Mensah: (on phone) Hello Reedolf Mensah on the line, please identify yourself.
Caller: Your Excellency good day, this is your whistle blower or better still your number one ardent follower. I believe you and your household are doing well as always by the special grace of the most High God.
President R. Mensah: My household and myself and enjoying divine accelerated blessings and I believe yours is equally doing same. To what do I owe this call this afternoon?
Caller: I wish I still had my family alive, all the same let me go to the purpose of my call and I hope you have time to spare? I also believe this line has not been compromised?
Presidents R. Mensah: It is very safe and secured so please go ahead with the purpose of your call.
Caller: Thank your my abled president, mmmmm unfortunately I will not speak in plain language so please listen to me with an undivided attention so that you can decipher what I am about to say.
President R. Mensah: I am all ears sir, please speak for thy servant to hear.
Caller: I love the way you remain humble even though you occupy the biggest office of this land, before I start with my preamble statement I will ask you some questions. Think carefully before you talk because your answer will make or unmake your leadership or reign a very successful one.
President R. Mensah: With permission you can carry on with what you have to ask me.
Caller: Okay sir, please between your family and the presidency, which one is paramount to you? Don’t rush to give me an answer, I already told you, your answer or decision will determine how Ghanaians will refer to you in the future.
President R. Mensah: Sir you know every rational and responsible man will choose his family. Won’t you do same if you were in my position?
Caller: Until I find myself in that position, I will reserve my comments but also don’t forget you swore an oath to always defend, protect and preserve the integrity of this very land. The sky is filled with evil and please as my late mother use to say, don’t put all your trust in a man that passed through the legs of a woman.
The fact that I laugh with you doesn’t mean I like you or I have good intentions for you, fear those around you and bear in mind that your shadow even leaves you anything you are in the dark. Whatever I had in mind to tell you or bring to your notice has been done through my preamble statement. Your Excellency, be strong, be wise, be vigilant, be bold and don’t ever let your weakness expose your flaws. It has never been about how you started it, but how you ended it that matters.
I will end by telling you that you are a content in a container which has been gifted to a continent to explode, may the God of host who has brought you this far, see you through and help you to make make right decisions for our motherland. May the good Lord be with you and may you have a wonderful day.
President R. Mensah: Amen and thank you for the blessings you keep blessing my life with. I hope to see you one day so we speak over coffee.
Caller: It will be my greatest moment ever in life and with pleasure I will look forward to that day.
President R. Mensah: It will happen soon sir, when I am back from my foriegn trip, I will let my personal aide work on our appointment and give you the feedback when you call me.
Caller: Very well your Excellency, may God carry you on his eagle wings to your destination and bring you back to our motherland safely.
President R. Mensah: Amen and may God bless our homeland Ghana. (call ends)
Who is this whistle blower?
What does the “whistle blower” want to say to
the President that he can’t speak in plain language ?
Did Cindy get a fair share of the cake?
Let the discussions start on the various platforms and sorry for the temporal holdup. The train just moved and it won’t stop till we get to the destination.
