I am Akoto Adjei Alexander, a Christian. A product of Abetifi Presbyterian Senior High School, Abetifi-Kwahu. I am in my late 20’s and the last born of the boys my parent brought to earth. I am a fiction/scriptwriter who loves to write about nature and the realities of life. On Phone
Caller: Your Excellency, when you give orders to your ministers, do you make follow-up on your orders?
President R. Mensah: Yes I make follow ups on some and the ones that I can’t handle, I send my vice president to do the inspection for me. Excuse me, I told you I have to be somewhere else so please kindly go straight to the point.
Caller: Your Excellency, do you know when you take your time to kill the ant, you can see the heart of it? The bible says “curse is the man who puts all his hopes and trust in his fellow man”, I am not saying don’t trust your fellow man but all I want to bring to your notice is that, know the kind of people you entrust your hopes and dreams to.
President R. Mensah: Mr whistle blower, for close to 5minutes now you have been on the line speaking in parables and proverbs. You have been beating about the bush without stating your purpose of calling, I believe you know my time is very limited?
Caller: Your Excellency, please take a look or pay a visit to the Agricultural Ministry and you will see the financial discrepancies that are taking place over there. Also do well to set a committee up that will check on the sacks of fertilizers that are being transfer to the rural areas.
President R. Mensah: What about the fertilizers? They are products my government is sharing for free to the cocoa farmers so why should I bother setting up a committee on that?
Caller: Your Excellency, stop behaving like a typical Ghanaian who would answer a question with a question. Mine is to highlight the places where there are loop holes and yours is to do a thorough check up on the very places I pin point. Your Excellency all the fertilizers that are been transported those areas are below standard and they will cause problems for the cocoa trees in the future.
President R. Mensah: Okay I have heard you, now give me a second so I take note of the important facts you are giving to me.
Caller: Now this is what I was talking about, you are now behaving like a good student. From the Agricultural Ministry we will move straight to the Ministry of Health . Your Excellency, are you aware that the vaccines that were imported in to curb down rabies and the antiode for snake bites are all expired?
President R. Mensah: You don’t mean it? Those vaccines were monitored by the W.H.O when they were imported and the Food and Drugs Authority certified it before the left the port, so how come they are expired?
Caller: Your Excellency, you are dealing with people who started the game long before you got your junior high school certificate. They know the game much more than you, you think it’s all about acquiring master’s and doctor’s degree that is leadership. If you care to know there are theories and practicals when it comes to politics.
It’s not about talking or criticizing your opponents that makes you a good politician. Politics is like the game of draft, when you are behind the player, you see all the loop holes and traps but when you come and sit behind the board, you see nothing. Lastly the sector Minister for Health acquired some forged certificates and work permit for some foreigners who are engaging themselves in some illicit businesses in this country.
The first one who is an Arab who is into illegal mining whiles the other one is a Chinese woman who is in wood logging somewhere in the northern region. Since you are in a hurry to be somewhere I will pause here but will certainly be watching if you will make any move towards the information I gave you.
President R. Mensah: Whatever came out from your mouth will be taken into swift action. I am very grateful for this first hand information. Thanks for not being a spectator but rather a concerned citizen, I promise to make you proud for the trust and confidence you continue to repose in me as your leader.
Caller: Okay my dynamic president, I will be watching from afar how you go about things. (ends call)
Back at Kempenski Hotel:
Karl’s Private Suite:
Karl Simpson: Ah that was a very exciting round of sex, herh you girl can rock. Mheeeeen, with this kind of mind-blowing sex, it can keep me in bed for the whole day.
Cindy: Well I told you am not only a pretty girl but I was also sweet like a honey.
Karl Simpson: Everything you said was indeed true and you didn’t mislead me. The first time we spoke you made mention of having a problem with your phone screen?
Cindy: (with a sad face) Yes my dear, anytime I try to dial some numbers, I go through a tough time. Sometimes I have to rotate my phone screen before I can get the right numbers keyed in. A friend owes me some monies so am looking forward for her to pay me so that I can go and change the phone screen later.
Karl Simpson: Ah in this modern time who takes his spoilt phone to the service centre to repair it? This new Samsung phones have their screens to be very expensive so it’s better you forget it and get a new phone. Before we leave this place, I will write you a cheque so you go and get yourself an iPhone X or Max. (walks to the washroom)
Cindy: (making signs in the air) Oh really? You mean you will write a cheque for me that I will use in purchasing a brand new iPhone. Karl prepare yourself for a career ending sex because I will paralyze you in this room.
Karl Simpson: Don’t make me let you run and leave your clothes behind. I was gentle because I was trying to be a gentleman since it was our first encounter.
Cindy: (talking to herself) So just one round of sex and he is about to sign a cheque worth more than seven thousand Ghana cedis. Karl you better brace yourself because anywhere I meet you, I will give it to you. Even when you want it in the car, I will give it to you. When you demand for it in your office, I will give it to you. Lovia, you got this heavenly chance and because of pride you threw it away, for you when your spirit senses good fortune coming away then the spirit runs far away from it. Karl I am dying with you and any lady who comes close to you will have to feel a heat of my rage, I will jealously protect you away from all the women like how mother hen behaves. (hears Karl’s phone ringing and she answers it)
Caller: Who is this answering my husband’s phone?
Cindy: Hey don’t you have manners? Didn’t your parent or creche teacher teach you how to greet when you come across someone?
Caller: I asked a simple but straightforward question, I said who the f**k are you to answer my husband’s phone call?
Cindy: I think you have called a wrong line madam so please check your choice of words you use over here.
Caller: What the f**k do you mean bitch? Where the freaking hell is Karl Simpson? If he told you he was single then get this into your gold digging head, that womanizer has been married to me for the past 9years and I have 3 children with him. When he comes back from wherever he has gone, tell him his pretty wedded wife called and that I and his kids are in the country so he should send the driver to come and get us from the airport.
Don’t feel so bad because you are not his first victim and might not be his last too. I hope you screwed him well on my behalf thinking you were doing that to win his heart, unfortunately for you, Karl Simpson has no bloody heart and he does what he feels like doing.
Karl Simpson: (walks out of the washroom and see Cindy holding his phone) How dare you answer my phone call? Who gave you that permission to do that?
Cindy: But I felt after having sex with you, then we had something going on between us?
Karl Simpson: If you thought that way, then I will say you were not as smart as I thought. Who told you sex is a leverage for an affair? Let me ask you this, who called me?
Cindy: She claims she is your wedded wife and that she is at the airport waiting for you to come and pick her up. Again she said you are in the habit of sleeping around with anything in skirt, she further said you are a womanizer and……..
Karl Simpson: (slaps Cindy) How there you open your filth mouth to call me names. Because I considered you and brought you to my private suite you have the nerves to assume we are on the same platform erh?
Cindy: Karl let me tell you this, you have put you hand in the food meant for the spirits so whatever you do, you must eat the food. I am stuck on you if you don’t know, you better come and finish what you started because I am already feeling horny again.
Karl Simpson: If they sent you to me, go back to them with message of failure. (pounces on Cindy and starts to punch her mercilessly)
The accountant as he left the charge office, went to sit in his car and called someone, gave the person up to date details of what had happened and told the person his current location. The person came to the police station in no time
Accountant: Ah you are here Morris.
Morris: Daddy who the hell did this to you?
Accountant: That monster I held in my hands at his infancy did this to me. Morris see what Karl Simpson has done to my face just because he claims he sent something to my mail and I told him to recheck who he sent the mail to.
Morris: Don’t worry about that one, you said on the phone that the police refused to write your statement and further more told you that because that idiot built this police station so they can’t take any actions towards him?
Accountant: Exactly so my son, that is what the station master of the police station told me.
Morris: It is a shame that money has blinded those that are supposed to protect us in this country. I will teach them a lesson for them to know that if they are law enforcers, I am a custodian of the law. There is no way that you will step on the tail of the viper and go scort free, I am going to bite so hard that, they can’t even scream. Let us go back to the charge office daddy. (they enter the charge office)
Station Master: Ah to what do I owe this pleasant surprise this evening almighty Lawyer Morris Ampah?
Morris: Oh cut the pretence Chief Inspector. What nonsense did you tell the man behind me?
Station Master: Lawyer, you see the one he wants to press charges against is a very influential person in the society that when the case is even sent to court, the man will use his connections and money to make it a foolish case so I only advised him to go home and dialogue with the person so he can be compensated.
Morris: It is a shame that a who Chief Inspector of the police is saying this to a complainant. Well if you care to know, the complainant is my father and I am here to see to it that justice is served to the right person.
Inmate: (screams from the cell) Lawyer my wife came to bail me but they said unless she pays 500 cedis before she can bail me. Please help me.
Morris: What is the offence of that man inside the cell?
Police Officer: Lawyer don’t mind that criminal inside there, that is how he behaves anytime he see someone at the counter.
Morris: I asked a simple question officer, I said what was his offence?
Inmate: Lawyer my child was knocked down by a motorbike and was at verge of dying, the only money on me was for my boss and I used that money to settle the hospital bills of my child. When my boss came and I informed him, he said he didn’t care about what happened but all he needed was his money, he gave me 3days to get his money and when I couldn’t get it, he called for my arrest.
Morris: So how many days have you been locked inside there?
Inmate: Today is exactly 3weeks that I was locked.
Morris: Mmmmm so when you were arranged for court, what did the court say?
Inmate: Court? Sir ever since I was brought here, I haven’t stepped out of this cell. Even my statement has not been written down by the officer handling my case.
Morris: Whaaaaaat? This is against your human rights, station master are you aware of this?
Station Master: Yes I am but there was I little I could do to help in this case. The complainant is the elder brother of the Commander in charge of this station.
Morris: Oh really? So is that how you guys have been discharging your duties unprofessionally here? I have to petition the Director of Operations for the Ghana Police Service, the Regional Commander and the acting Inspector General of Police for this childish service you are providing for mother Ghana. The right once are not getting the chance to join the service and force, this whom you know thing must stop and I mean now. Where is the Commander of this police station?
Station Master: He is not around but am sure he will be coming around soon to check on the officers who will be going for night patrols and duty.
Morris: Well that is okay, so tell me, how much is the man in there owing his boss?
Station Master: Sergeant Bawah, how much did the man say the guy in there is owing him?
Police Officer: Sir the CID handling the case said the amount is 925 cedis.
Morris: So because of this peanut you lock someone behind bars, infringe on his human rights are you are still demanding more than half of the amount before you grant him bail, meanwhile you have pasted it boldly over there that bail is free. I want that guy out of that cell right this moment before I invite the Director of PIPS to this place.
Station Master: Sergeant Bawah, you heard the human rights lawyer give an order. Release that man right now.
Morris: When his wicked boss comes around, tell him if he goes anywhere closer to that man to disturb him, he will have me to contend with in the court of law. Because of money some people think they are far better than their fellow men, in Ghana everyone deserves equal rights and justice. When you are done, you come and take my father’s statement after which you will give him a medical form for the hospital.
Station Master: I will personally handle that lawyer Ampah.
Back at Mansokrom:
Kwame Adjei: Hello guys, are you ready for the bush?
Junior: Uncle Kwame, I have been waiting for you for the past 2hours.
Twum Boafo: Junior where is the big torch light?
Junior: It was on the small table daddy.
Twum Boafo: Oh okay I have seen it, hope you have taken you water bottle, the small sack which contains onions and your knife?
Junior: I have everything on me daddy.
Kwame Adjei: Good boy, junior before we set off to the bush, there are some rules and regulations you must follow. In the bush we communicate only with signs, we don’t scream nor shout even when we come across the most deadliest creature or animal. You have to focus on your target, you must be careful with your movement and lastly whatever happens in the bush stays in the bush, nobody else must hear of it on this earth. If you can keep to this rules then you will become the most successful hunter on our land, now let us set off for your first hunting expedition and your first night in the bush.
Back at Kempenski Hotel:
Karl Simpson continues punching Cindy as she keeps on screaming for help. Karl Simpson on the other hand has been throwing deadly threats into the air that should Cindy come anywhere close to him or his office, he will beat her to death and nothing will happen to him. Luckily for Cindy, a hotel attendant who was on the same floor heard her scream for help and with the master door card he had on him, he opens the door and helps Cindy to escape from the hands of Karl Simpson.
She runs out of the suite wearing only her pant, a white lady who was on the same floor sees her and gives Cindy the hotel morning coat to wear so she covers her nakedness. Desperately, he runs to the elevator and descends down with blood oozing from her mouth and her nose, she runs through the reception where the people around watch her with a terrified state of mind. She manages to run pass the security checkpoint and jumps to the road, she barely escapes a taxi which nearly knocks her down.
