Topic: Causes Of Lateness To Church
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Sober Reflections
People give various reasons to justify their lateness to church. When we carefully examine their reasons, we can conclude that they lack knowledge of who God is. That is why they can be on time for all other appointments but be late to church.
Other reasons are:
▪︎Procrastination – some people have the habit of delaying things to be done. They always say, “There is still time”. Read what Apostle James says in James 4:17
▪︎Lack of organisation – people do not prepare what needs to be done before time. They wait till it’s almost time before they start looking for things. See what God says in Prov 10:4 and adjust.
▪︎Profanity – Some people are profane and treat the things of God lightly. Esau was profane and he lost his birthright to Jacob. Gen 25:32-34
Sisters, the devil is very cunning and will do anything to prevent you from having fellowship with God. He will give you legitimate reasons to be late to meet with God. But, 2 Cor 2:11b says, For we are not unaware of his schemes.
Please don’t allow him to deceive you to destruction.
Prayer
Thank You Father God for Your patience with me. For opening my eyes to the schemes of the devil with legitimate excuses.
Holy Spirit, please help me to break from the habit of procrastination and adjust. Help me Lord to treat the things of God sacred that I shall attach importance to every meeting with God to His glory in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen!
