Topic: The Fruit Of Righteousness
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:11
Sober Reflections
When we accept Christ as our savior we are counted as righteous in God’s sight because of what Jesus did for us. And we are still commanded to seek God’s righteousness. Matt 6:33
Righteousness simply means doing what is right to please God. Our aim must be to please God and nothing else.
Psalm 15 gives us a practical summary of righteous living. The righteous
▪︎speaks and thinks the truth from his heart
▪︎does not gossip
▪︎does not do evil to his friend or neighbour
▪︎honours those who fear the Lord
▪︎keeps his promises no matter what
▪︎lends without charging interest
▪︎can not be bribed to lie against others
God desires that we bear fruits that will last. Jesus said in John 15:8, This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.
Fruit of righteousness does not spoil nor rot, it has no expiry date.
Sisters, our righteousness is of Christ Jesus but we are required to bear fruit of righteousness as a lifestyle that we may be able to have intimate relationship with God. Ps 15:1
Prayer
Thank You Father God for giving me Jesus, my righteousness.
Holy Spirit, please help me to live right to please God as I bear the fruit of righteousness in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
