CHAPTER 19
They had lost four men and one woman; they were the first to be swallowed by the dreadful demonic reptile. Temi had not been able to get them out of the reptile in time, and they had died.
This was the very first time Temi had seen a real funeral and participated in one. He could not hold back his tears as they marched to the small cemetery in the woods, and an opulent man in black robes and a black hat called M.B. Twaki supervised their burial.
Temi watched, absolutely shattered, when the five coffins were lowered into the five holes, and M. B. Twaki finally let them put the soil on them. Even though Daniel and Prosper urged Temi to go back and have some rest, he simply could not move until the graves had been covered and beaten down, and finally, the slabs placed.

He returned to the settlement and was given one of the log cabins that had not been destroyed in the horrific attack. He could not eat much as the crushing weight of the deaths crippled him.
Temidayo took a long bath and was sitting morosely on the porch when Suncity and Prosper approached him. Emmanuel Suncity was dressed in strange clothing and had painted his face a hideous black.
“What’s with you?” Temi asked, startled. “You look hideous.”
“I’m going up the hills and into the caves of the dead,” Suncity said. “Time is limited, and so I must complete the Mimic Artefact tonight. I’ll see you later in the day tomorrow, my Lord.”
Temi nodded with dawning understanding.
“May the Creator be with you as you create this important artefact to help us in our struggle toward our destiny,” he said.
“Thank you, my Lord,” Suncity said. “I just want a lock of your hair and a drop of your blood, my Lord.”
“Certainly, Uncle, anything you need.”
He sat down as Emmanuel Suncity used new scissors to snip off a few locks on his head, and then he pierced Temi’s thumb with a sharp pin and then used a little transparent cup with a lid to take three droplets of blood. He put all of that into a little basket tied to his waist.
They watched him as he moved into the darkness.
Prosper then looked at the young prince earnestly.
“Remember I once told you that you would grow and make tough decisions?” he asked softly.
“I do remember, and I remember a lot more,” Temi said with a nod.

“Good, Temi,” Prosper said as he stared into the darkness. “You must know, therefore, that deaths happen, my Lord, and you can’t blame yourself for everything that happens, nor hold yourself responsible for every living person. Sometimes things happen because they’re meant to happen.”
“I know you’re right, my Commander,” Temi said sadly. “But I just can’t stop feeling sad.”
“Yes, I know, because you’re a good man, and you have a heart of gold, just like your father,” Prosper said. “However, this emotional side of yours is what you have to conquer. The mission ahead of you is not an easy one, and I am sure it is going to be fraught with more deaths, maybe of people very close to you.”
“No, don’t say that!” Temi said miserably. “Please, don’t say that!”
Prosper’s face was cold as he faced the young prince.
“Yes, Temi!” he said harshly. “There are going to be more deaths! You have to know that! Redeeming the Dayo Empire isn’t going to be a simple chore of killing Temitayo and Leke Bally. These two are evil, my friend, and so expect a hard time, and the deaths of people close. I really don’t like the way you take death so hard, so personally. I shudder to think what will happen if someone close to you dies. You have to fortify yourself, Temi. You’re the king, and you will see evil things, and take evil decisions sometimes. You have to control that emotional part of your heart, please, otherwise it will be hard for you.”

They stared at each other for a longer time, and then the Heir Apparent nodded.
“Thank you, Prosper,” he said softly. “You speak the truth. Indeed, I shall try to be more stable emotionally.”
“Good, Temi,” Prosper said with a gentle smile. “Now, get some sleep.”

The pale form of Leke Olugbade Bally glided through the night skies over Dayo. His long, pale face was lit up by the fiery greenness of his evil eyes as he approached the pair of evil red eyes in the distance ahead of him.
The red pair of eyes seemed to descend from the sky, forming a formidable pinkish figure as it hovered, glaring at Leke Olugbade Bally with a steady, apprehensive look.
“Why have you summoned me here, you vile leprous evil?” Leke Olugbade Bally hissed furiously, and smoke emitted from his ears and nostrils, and suddenly the green of his eyes vanished and his eyes began to burn like yellow flames. It was quite evident that he hated the evil entity facing him.
The dark shimmering figure with the red eyes seemed to hold up his hands with supplication.
“I beseech you, Master Bally, to forgive me for trying to usurp you so many years ago!” the red-eyed entity said. “It has been frantic for me, and indeed I’m weak without your protection. I’ve scoured the Worlds, and I find my existence vexatious because I can’t get the souls I need to survive. Pardon me, master, and let me back into your fold. I’ve learned a lesson, and I’ll wear your leash!”
“It is not even a consideration,” Leke Bally growled, and suddenly great fireballs appeared on his hands. “I should have burned you to extinction many years ago, Adiekwuo Eusebia Somtoo! And I guess I’ll do that right now!”
“Stay your hand, Master Bally!” the red-eyed evil entity called Adiekwuo Eusebia Somtoo said. “Perhaps, you can burn me, but perhaps you will follow me into extinction soon enough. Because I can help you deal with the threat that is coming your way!”
“You have two seconds!” Leke Olubgade Bally screamed. “Two seconds before I kill you, Somtoo!”
“A man comes, my brother!” Somtoo said coldly. “He was on earth, hidden from your eyes, and he carries the blood of the kings of Dayo! He is of a different ilk, and he is your greatest danger!”
Leke Olugbade Bally suffered a momentary pang of dread as he remembered that pale shadow that had killed the unkillable, that shadow with the people that he could not quite clearly see.
A man who carried the blood of the kings of Dayo? A potential king? Who was he? Slowly, the fire died down from the tips of his fingers as he glared at Somtoo.
“Who is he?” he asked coldly.
“You know I can roam over the plains of the worlds, and I stayed in the world called Earth, feeding on dead evil souls…and then I came across him! I knew immediately he was of danger to you, and so I tried to kill him in a river…but alas, I was stopped by the Grand Oracle of Dayo!”
“Jhon Moziz!” Leke Bally breathed evilly. “Yes, I knew he was hiding something from me! It has covered his brain, and every time I tried to reach it he knocked himself out, and I couldn’t find it! But he grows weaker, so I can’t reach him anymore. I know he will die soon!”
“He is a boy they brought through the portals, and he bears the stamp of the last king!”

“Ahhhhhh!” Leke Olugbade Bally breathed with great agitation as he began to get a semblance of understanding. “A stamp of King Demi? Ahhhhhh! Could it be that the silly Queen Mother was with child and I didn’t see? Could it be that she gave birth and Jhon Moziz, curse him, took the spawn and hid him on Earth? Is this evil kin returning?”
“He is, my Master!” Somtoo said coldly. “I have been following him, and even tried to kill him again in Bliss!”
“Bliss!” Leke Olugbade Bally screamed, and this time his voice was unstable with fear. “He went to Bliss to meet the Fathers? Woe upon woe! I have a bigger problem than I thought!”
“That you do!” Somtoo wailed evilly. “Because he is of great spirit, filled with badness for you! But, alas, because he is of the ilk of the kings, your powers over him are limited, and you can’t see him now. But I, Adiekwuo Eusebia Somtoo, has the free will to roam the Worlds, and I can reach him…that is if you allow me back as your servant, my Master!”
Leke Olugbade Bally hesitated for only a fraction of a second, and he knew immediately that indeed, he needed the free-roaming evil spirit now to deal with this great threat he had not been prepared for!
“You’re forgiven!” he said coldly. “But only once, Somtoo! If you ever try any insubordination against me again, remember there will be no mercy again…and I shall kill you!”
Adiekwuo Eusebia Somtoo immediately crouched in the sky in instant obedience and humility.
“Yes, my Master, I understand!”
“Now, take my Siren Cruella, go and end the miserable life of that man!” Leke Olugbade Bally commanded.
“Indeed, it shall be so, my Master!” Somtoo said meekly. “But I am very weak, near death, and I need the sustaining meal of a soul!”
“You will find two hunters in the northern forests where Cruella and her company live in the river! You have permission over the hunters! Feed…and go and kill that man!”
“Thank you, my master!” Somtoo said with great gratitude. “It shall be done!”
***
Adiekwuo Eusebia Somtoo found the two hunters in the forest just as Leke Bally had said, sleeping by a campfire!
He descended on them with glee, and put his mouth in the lips of the first one, and began to suck the life essence out of the man, slurping with great hunger and happiness!
The hunter came awake, and he saw the dark evil crouched over him! His heart was filled with terror, but he was seized with sleep paralysis, and he could not move a muscle as the red-eyed demon sucked and slurped until the hunter fell back down, dead!
His body looked shrunken and emaciated, his eyes wide and bulging!
Somtoo growled evilly with great contentment!
He had been so hungry for so many years, and had been on the brink of death! Now he had his Master back, and he would not go hungry again!
The second hunter had woken up, and he was shaking his dead friend with great fear and agitation.
“Wake up, Samba!” the hunter said, shivering as he looked around the dark forest. “There’s evil around, Samba! I can feel it! Wake up!”
Somtoo grinned evilly!
The meal always tasted better and sweeter when the victims were terrified! Slowly, he revealed himself to the man, giving him a look of pure red-eyed evil of a dark, shimmering spirit hovering above him!
The hunter fell back, and he screamed with terror as he moved on his buttocks at the sight of such great evil!
“Ahhhh, scream, my meal!” Somtoo whispered evilly. “Garnish my food with fear and terror!”
The man screamed over and over, and then Somtoo fell on him and began to tear into him as he sucked the essence out of him!
He let the lifeless, shrunken body fall, and then he sailed into the air shouting with evil glee! He sailed across the forest until he came to a gleaming pale river nestled in the forest, and shining with the glow of the pale moon!+
There was a ghostly, greenish figure of a naked woman with wild hair gliding across the river! She was incredibly curvy and beautiful, but her eyes are evil pink. Her hands glided seductively across her proud breasts and down her evil, glowing thighs!
Somtoo stayed in the air above her and spoke coldly.
“We have a mission, Cruella!”
“Yessssss!” the siren said, and her voice sounded like a sweet, alluring song. “I’ve been informed by the massssssterrrrr! But give me an image, you evil piece of clot…let me have an imaaaaage!”
Somtoo slowly threw out his hand and sent a woman’s image gliding across the sky.
Cruella floated upward toward the image, and when she entered the image, she changed rapidly into a devastating, naked woman that looked exactly like Nneka Okez!
“Let’s go get this man!” she hissed dangerously.
The two of them sailed fast into the air and journeyed fast toward the settlement of Emmanuel Suncity the Butcher…
They had an agenda with Prince Temidayo David of Dayo!
