CHAPTER 23
There was a buzz of excitement when Prince Temidayo returned to the Haven in the evening of the following day.
Everybody came out to welcome them, and to see the new addition to the community. Emmanuel Suncity and his troops totalled about seventy, but luckily enough, the barracks was large enough with a lot of spare rooms to accommodate them.
It was a joyous night, and a party quickly got underway. Cows and goats were slaughtered to prepare a feast, and it was indeed a great sight to see the people so happy for once.
But, as the feast continued, the young prince met the Keepers to brief them. With him were Prosper Freeman, Daniel Godwin, Emmanuel Suncity, Okakuo Agbons, M. B. Twaki the Preacherman, and Macrex Wills who was quickly proving himself to be a very resourceful young man.

Temi stood at the head of the table and talked for a long time, explaining his plans to the people, and completely blowing them apart with his grasp of the tactical nature of the problem facing them.
Ayaka Nsugbe stood up slowly and pointed at the lighted screen where Temi had been doing his presentation with diagrams and sketches.
“So, my Lord, if I get you right, you will ride with Okakuo Agbons,” he began carefully. “You will be disguised by the Mimic Artefact, and Okakuo would be disguised by our costume experts. You will ride to Dayo Square to free the Grand Oracle and take the Royal DayoSword hanging on top of the Rock of Redemption. At the same time, Commander Freeman and the Warriors would enter Dayo through a secret and forgotten Pass that leads to the Eastern Corridor and wait for you around the palace. After getting the Sword and rescuing the Grand Oracle you would join them at the palace and take care of Temitayo Anubi and Leke Olugbade Bally.”

“That about sums it up,” Temi said grimly. “Time is of the very essence because our Grand Oracle perishes. I only pray that the Creator of All Things will keep his heart beating until I reach him. Secondly, precision and coordination are key. I’ll work out exact time coordinates to ensure that we take the advantage to the palace.”
“But Dayo has such a large army, outnumbering our warriors to about fifty to one,” Keeper Emma Tobi said in a worried voice. “I’m afraid it could be a massacre.”
“Indeed, it looks bleak,” Temidayo said. “But our warriors would not engage in battle with the Dayo Warriors unless it becomes absolutely necessary. Remember, the snake loses it’s bite once it is beheaded. With luck, and with fate smiling on us, I hope to get the Royal DayoSword and deal with the two evil men before a battle erupts. Once Temitayo is no more, once Leke Olugbade is vanquished, the warriors would switch allegiance to us.”
“There is a lot of discord in the army, ladies and gentlemen,” Emmanuel Suncity said carefully. “Lots of rancour and dissatisfaction. Lots of ill-will, if I may add. So, a takeover will please a lot of them.”
“Yes, I can attest to that,” Okakuo Agbons said. “There are many like me in the army who wish, above all else, that a real king will come along in Dayo.”
“It is a plan then, my Lord,” Ayaka Nsugbe said, his voice excited. “May the Creator of All things give us victory!”
“So be it!” several of them cried.
Once again, there was great affinity, hope and solidarity all around.
As had been prophesied, Temidayo’s presence was causing a positive frenzy in the hearts of the Dayan Survivors.

The celebration and feasting were still going on in a frenzy when Temidayo mounted the steps and knocked on Nneka’s door.
There was no answer so he tried the handle. It opened, and he entered the dark interior and waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. He turned the key in the lock and walked quickly toward the entrance of the bedroom door.
He entered and came to a stop.
The room was lighted with soft candlelight. The room was beautiful, and the bed was freshly-made with white and red sheets.
Nneka Okez was lying on her side on the bed near the wall with her back to him. She was naked, and her skin shone beautifully in the candlelight. Her incredible body with the amazing curves and hills pleased his eyes very much, and he felt the hunger mounting up in him.
He stood watching her for a long time, admiring the perfect symmetry of her figure. She turned slowly on her back and looked at him, and even though tears glittered on her lashes, they shone like drops of diamonds, for her beauty took his breath away.
“You were missed like the very air I breathe, my Prince,” she whispered with passion and held out her arms to her. “Come, Temi, my prince! Come and make my body sing with the rapturous rhythm of a happy river.”
He walked slowly toward her with his heart on his face.
“Indeed, for a fact, there is none that draws breath who’s more beautiful than you are, my queen,” he said as he slowly lowered himself on the bed and stared at her. “I can look at you like this for eternity, for this heart loves you and you only, Nek.”
“Then come, my love, and sing to my body!”
She sidled into his arms, her body a silky delight that merged with his in perfect harmony. Lips of honey sweetness met his, her gentle perfume a source of delight that made his senses melt.
Their hands were filled with fire and ice as they travelled across their bodies with relaxed frenzy, seeking out softness and hardness, tempting sweetness and gentle pain, drumming up furious passion so that for a moment it felt like even air would strangle if it dared pass between them.
There was a great pleasure, and there was ecstasy. He came down as her hips came up, their bodies joining so tightly that she felt him in her core, and he felt her in his soul. Little groans and sighs gave way to heavy groans and moaning accompanying a perfect rhythm that defied the laws of gravity and finesse.
They were in natural form, turning and changing in the beat of space, aligning with perfect coordinates as they felt the level of sweetness and bliss none of them had ever felt before.

They fused tighter, and her strong thighs gripped him. Her palms fused in his, and her face lost all semblance of a human structure as her gasps became frenzied and beastly, but she was still beautiful.
And she stared at his face, which had become less princely and rather screwed up by an inner explosion that promised to split the earth open just to accommodate them. In her sweet agony, her arms fell around his neck like vices, and she pulled him as if challenged to merge their bodies.
His arms were the crushing arms of a warrior, but she hardly felt the pain as her body spasmed and then she was tossing around beneath him like a bit of paper floundering in a hailstorm.
She hissed and would have screamed if his frantic lips had not fused on hers, and then they drained each other of both a physical and spiritual essence. The world actually moved, according to their frenzied minds, and their pleasure was intense and fiery, hot and cold, a conundrum of passion and emotions that soared and crashed, taking their breaths away, and restoring peace and sweetness that made both of them cry!
It was the kind of happiness that only two hearts fused in love could have.

As the night deepened she shook him awake.
He was lying behind her with his arms around her, making her feel warm and cherished.
“Midnight approaches, my prince,” she whispers. “You need to retire to the Royal Quarters.”
“I march to battle in the dawn of the day,” he murmured sleepily. “This is a night I spend in your arms.”
“But I will be punished!” she said in alarm.
“I tell you, no one saw anything,” he replied. “Anybody that testifies to seeing me in your quarters will have gouged-out eyes.”
She giggled then and pressed her back even firmly against his groin.
“Ah, tempt me not, you witch,” he whispered as his hands roamed over the sweet hills on her chest. “I do believe strongly that you have taken all I can give for a night.”
She sighed with contentment, and then turned in his arms, draped a sweet thigh through his legs, and kissed him full on the lips, slowly and lingeringly.
She then spoke quietly, her eyes fixed deeply on his face.
“I was expecting my flow five days ago, my prince,” she said softly as tears shimmered in her eyes. “But it has not shown. I approached the Sage yesterday, and he indeed confirmed it.”
“For a fact you speak in riddles,” he said with a yawn. “The Sage confirmed you cannot pass water flow like you cannot do the wee-wee? Is that an abnormality of some kind?”
She giggled and kissed the tip of his nose.
“You’re indeed a child, but a very lovable one at that,” she said amidst her happy giggles. “Now, every woman flows a little blood every month, you see, to show –”
“Oh, yes, I do remember that!” Temi broke in quickly. “Shemen Persis did teach me that, you know. The cycle of the woman, ah, yes, that is what you mean by your flow stopped?”
She nodded twice at him, and he scowled a little bit.
“But that will mean you can’t have children, menopause if you had been aged, but since you’re still young, that will mean…oh! Oh!”
It dawned on him finally then.
And a warm glow of exhilaration and love flooded Nneka as she watched the way his whole face lit up, and how extremely overjoyed he looked suddenly as he stared at her with his mouth open, so pleased that tears shimmered suddenly in his eyes.
“A son, or a daughter, of mine, of us…oh, Nek!” he whispered tremulously. “You make my heart throb with an alien feeling of profound bliss!”
She nodded and began to cry with happiness as they kissed.
“So, hurry up, my love, and come back to me alive,” she whispered. “We need you so, your child and me!”
He nodded and held her gently, kissing her with love and happiness.
But, quite suddenly, Nneka remembered Jhon Moziz’s ominous words to her, that coming to the Haven with Temi would bring him only bitter grief, but that was not what she was seeing now. What she saw in him now was only profound happiness, and yet a chill still crept up her spine as she tried to push that ominous warning out of her heart.
