CHAPTER 25
The warriors let out maniacal screams and came at Temidayo.
The Heir Apparent met their charge with a lunge of his own, and what followed next was a devastating show of force, of rhythm in motion, of superior swordsmanship that none of the warriors had ever witnessed.
He was a warrior in true form, seeming to move with air under the soles of his canvas, seeming to possess an invisible eye that saw the attack move minutes before it was launched on him!
He was a constantly moving form, his speed blinding, his strikes deadly! His swords struck with wide arcs, felling a multitude of warriors with just a swipe, the energy sizzling blindly through the middle and edges of the Swords of Destiny, cutting down the warriors with devastating power such that the ground was soon littered with hordes of fallen warriors!
Here was a man who showed no fear, who knew no fear, whose training had been by the Creator of All Things through the impartation of his forebears, and at that particular moment in time his heart was laden with such wrathful fury that he had no time to reflect on the carnage he was causing, on the lives he was taking, and on the blood he was shedding in that slice of the legend of Dayo.
Soft words of attack emitted from his lips as he moved with devastating precision, floating harmlessly from the attacking points of swords and slicing, through his attackers almost with effortless ease!
And soon, even in the haze of their dulled brains, it finally dawned on them that this was no ordinary man and that he simply could not be taken that easily. It dawned on them that here was a man who would leave the floor littered with their bodies for as long as they came at him.

And so, the fear of death finally cut through the haze of the warriors who hitherto knew no fear, and soon a wide arc was left around the prince because no one really wanted to get close enough to experience the devastation that was evident to all of them in the incredible number of warriors lying dead on the grounds of the Dayo Square!
“Why have you stopped attacking?” the Army Commander, Emmanuel Stephen Skandy, that shady man who had been demoted by King Demi and who became so embittered that he colluded with Temitayo Anubi to murder the king, screamed as he pushed his way through the ranks of his warriors. “Attack him, kill him!”
But most of the warriors did not budge, and an infuriated Emmanuel Skandy finally pushed his way to the front, and saw the bodies of hordes of warriors on the ground!
His eyes opened wide with horror and he looked around, trying to see if the attackers were many to have caused this massacre!
But there was only one man, that sole black-shrouded man holding the glittering swords!
“The Swords of Destiny?” Skandy whispered with sudden horror. “No! No, no, no!”
His horrified eyes came up slowly, and that was when he saw the wrathful face of the young prince impaling him!
“No!” Skandy cried with horror as he looked at a face that was exactly the face of a young King Demi. “No, no, no!”
His fear permeated the air as Temi took a step toward him.
“No, keep away from me, on no, no, no!” Skandy screamed as he turned to flee, but he encountered the hard bodies of the warriors blocking his way.

A man who had been nothing but cruel to these warriors, a man whose wickedness had filled most of them with hatred, they saw his fear of this new man, and they instantly knew this was a day of reckoning.
They closed their ranks, and the pathetic, screaming traitor could not find a way through. In his terror, he turned finally and looked at the cold eyes of Temi.
He spluttered and suddenly fell to his knees and held up his hand in supplication.
“Forgive me, Your Majesty, My Lord, My King!” he cried pathetically. “I was misled by your greedy nephew! Please, Your Majesty, King Demi, forgive my erring heart! Have mercy on your servant.”
“My father was a good man, a far better specimen of a king than I will ever be!” Temidayo said coldly. “You’re not facing the merciful King Demi, you traitor! You’re facing a boy who saw you handing over poison to my father’s chef to poison him! You are facing the wrath of a boy whose heart burns with fury for the atrocity you visited on his father. And there is no mercy here!”
“His son?” Skandy whispered, shaking his head with horror. “He had a son? Oh, please, please, please! Listen to me! I didn’t mean to do it!”
“There will be no more speeches!” Temidayo said acidly. “Pick your sword and fight like a man, or die where you kneel like the pig you are!”

Emmanuel Skandy watched the dark face of the young prince approaching him, and he knew that finally, destiny had caught up with him. The day of reckoning was here, and all his bad deeds had caught up with him. This was one fight he was not walking from, and this was the day he was going to finally settle the scores for the death of a good man.
With a scream of fear Emmanuel Stephen Skandy drew his sword and rushed at Temidayo.
“Kita!” Temidayo whispered, dropping into an attacking crouch.
The sword in his right hand slashed in a sideways attack, cutting off the legs of Emmanuel Skandy at the knees. The sword in his left hand slashed sideways, slicing cleanly through the thighs of the traitor so that the stumps of his thighs landed on the floor, but already the right-hand swipe was on as Temi brought his sword cutting savagely through, cutting completely through the middle portion of Skandy’s body so that his trunk struck the ground. A left-handed strike cut through the man’s chest cleanly!
His horrified eyes stared, and tears of terror reflected in his eyes for a moment before Temidayo sliced his head right off his neck!
And on the day Emmanuel Stephen Skandy met destiny after the day he betrayed King Demi, pieces of his body littered the grounds of the Dayo Square!
Prince Temidayo disregarded the stunned warriors as he threw the Swords of Destiny backward, and they sailed majestically into their scabbards. Face grim and cruel, the prince of Dayo moved toward the Rock of Redemption with his eyes fixed on the glittering Royal DayoSword. He took running steps forward, and then he leapt high in the air, his leg striking the rock, leveraging himself up high, and then Prince David Temidayo of Dayo held the hilt of the Royal DayoSword!
Sizzling energy surged through him, knocking him to the ground hard! Thunder boomed across the skies, and brilliant shards of lightning split the dark skies in a never-ending criss-cross of energy, turning the night brilliant shades of light!
The lightning licked down, smashing again and again into prince Temdiayo as he knelt on one knee on the ground with dead bodies around him and his hands gripped around the hilt of the Royal DayoSword!
Bolt after bolt of terrible lightning struck the young prince, driving him flat on the ground! The whole of the Dayo Empire shook horribly as a ripple passed through the ground, and a horrible storm soon began to rip terribly across the land!
Some of the warriors dropped their swords and began to flee with fear, whilst others simply watched the frightening spectacle with bulging eyes.
At the entrance of the Dayo Square, Okakuo Agbons looked into the sky and a bleak smile crossed his face as he slowly dropped to his knees.
“He made it!” he whispered dazedly. “Oh yes, he made it, by Jove! He’s the One!”

And, inside the servants’ quarters of the palace, Queen Kelly Philip held her stunned daughter’s hands after the earthquake tremor had passed, and her eyes filled with tears as she gazed first at the terrible lightning rippling across the sky, and then into the face of her scared daughter.
“Mother!” Princess Uvbi Akenzua whispered. “I am scared! What is happening? It feels like the end has come! Has the last leaf fallen off the Olive Plant? Are we going to die?”
“No, my darling daughter!” the Queen said as she hugged the princess tightly. “It is indeed the end! This is the Rebirth Storm! It happens when a true heir touches the Royal DayoSword! My son is here, and he has the sword! Your brother has come for his own, my love!”
The princess hugged her mother fiercely as both of them wept with joy.
And in Dayo Square, the horrible weather stopped.
The warriors looked at the inert figure of the strange man on the ground, sure that he might be dead, but Temidayo slowly stirred, and he gripped the hilt of the beautiful Royal DayoSword.
He leveraged himself slowly to his feet, and the moment he gained his feet those nearer to him saw that there was a strange green circle around the pupils of his eyes.
And then Prince Temidayo took a step forward and struck the Rock of Redemption with the Royal DayoSword!
The rock split into two uneven halves, sliding open gently.
The bigger half had the olive plant still growing on its top, and from the smaller half, the body of Grand Oracle Jhon Moziz, trapped for nearly nineteen years, slipped out and fell limply to the ground.
The two halves of the rock slowly came together and fused again, and at the same time one of the remaining two leaves of the olive tree dropped off…
As Prince Temidayo moved hurriedly toward the inert body of Jhon Moziz, a strange thing happened…
All the warriors sheathed their swords, and they fell down on their right knees and bowed to him!
There was a new order in the Empire of Dayo!
