CHAPTER 9
In the end, Rose did her best.
She knew deep down that she tried, and gave it all, and had no regrets later at the way things finally turned out.
When she got to the bedroom he was not there.
She then tried to trace him through the mirage of different rooms in the Western Wing. Rose was becoming a little bit anxious as she moved from room to room, section to section until finally reaching the end of the doors.
She came out of a door and found herself in a short corridor which ended on a spiral staircase that climbed to a partially-open golden door.
She pushed it open tentatively, entered, and then gasped with absolute shock which made her stop dead in her tracks. Her hand flew tentatively to touch her lips as she took uncertain steps further into the room. The carpet was rich and silky, muffling her steps as she moved into the dome-like structure.
Thick glass rose from the floor and curved upward then down, forming a complete dome. It was an aquarium, and it felt exactly like being at the bottom of the sea!
She could see the different kinds of marine fishes swimming majestically inside this huge class encasement! The fishes ranged from the tiniest to the biggest; the beautiful to the scary; the shiny to the dull!
The enclosure was lighted by soft blue and white lights, casting majestic glows on the incredible deep-sea effect of this majestic aquarium. This was simply the most beautiful sight she had ever beheld, and she moved along with almost bated breath.
She saw that there was a huge, beautiful bed in the middle of the dome, a golden bed that swivelled gently on mechanical wheels so that anybody lying on it could barely feel the movement, but would witness a different array of the glorious sights of this breath-taking spectacle.
Temi was sitting on the edge of the bed with a bottle of wine in his hand, and he took slug after slug as he stared at the fishes with a beautiful expression on his face. As the bed swivelled gently to face the left wall, he saw her, and then he pressed a button that stopped the rotating bed.
She walked slowly toward him, and then she reached out and took the bottle from his hand.
“Alcohol is a mocker, my love,” she whispered.
Temi smiled sadly at her, and his incredible handsomeness almost took her breath away.
“They don’t understand me,” he said miserably. “I’m scared, Neji Helen! I did my best! Yes, I tried, and I got the Royal DayoSword. But every inch of the way has been filled with one danger after the next! In the end, how would it benefit me if I should regain Dayo, and lose my friends and possibly my family? I just don’t want anybody else to die! And they do not understand me.”
Rose stepped close to him and put her arms around his neck.
“I understand you, my love,” she whispered softly. “Don’t be afraid. Our love should make you strong. But don’t talk, my love. Don’t talk about that now. Just hold me, and kiss me.”
And their kiss was not tender this time around.
It was filled with a mutual hunger that needed to be slaked.
He was drunk, and yet he was present with her in all ways. She kissed him hungrily, holding nothing of herself back, pushing and giving in to him. His arms crushed her to his chest, and he kissed her with the fervent craving of a starved heart.
Rose’s love knew no bounds as she moved into him, and he lifted her on to the bed gently. She fell on him, curling her limbs around him. She moaned, and he groaned as their bodies hungered for each other and begged to be released from the captivity of craving into the exultation of passion.
Surrounded by the beauty of the wild seas, their hands roamed over each other, and explored, and breathed. With a hunger that throbbed their hearts their clothes were shed with grunts and impatience, and then, naked, they lay in each other’s arms, craving for more!
His gentle fingers burned waves of desire through every nerve in her body. She lay on him, almost crying as wave after wave of blissful pleasure buffeted her and flooded her spirit.
Rose reached down, and for the first time in her life she touched the turgid member of a man, but this was a man she loved beyond compare.
She burned around him as he gently eased her on her back and then he came on top of her, kissing her passionately, his fingers causing her body fluids to ooze.
And then, finally, there he was, at the juncture of her thighs, and she could feel him prodding at her jade entrance, his girth hard and firm and seeking a blissful unification with her.
She moaned and cried with love and pleasure, and she just might have taken him gladly at that moment if he had not spoken…but he did.
If he had continued kissing her, touching her, making her body cry, she would not have resisted in any way because at that poignant moment in time she forgot entirely that she was someone else to him. She was just a woman in love, waiting for the sweet moment of sealing a vow with the man she loved beyond breath.
He spoke!
Searing words that killed her very soul within her and made her whole body freeze with pain so absolute that it almost stopped the very breath in her!
“Oh, Neji, Neji, my love!” he whispered as he nibbled her ear. “I love you so much, Neji Helen. With every little drop of blood in me!”
And Rose froze then!
Her body just rejected the inference and savage interference, and she bucked her hips backwards, denying him the gentle entry he was seeking. Drunk and fiercely aroused, filled with love and tenderness, he prodded forward, a bit harder, but Rose pushed her hips back, and her beautiful rosy thighs came together, closing the entrance to her diamond palace.
Tears of pain, anguish, passion and spurned love engulfed her!
She loved this boy, oh how she loved him!
Yes, she admitted it to herself finally.
Temi was the man for her, the only man her heart craved! And yes, she wanted to make love to him badly, urgently…but if she was going to lose her virginity to him, she preferred it to be as herself, and not cast in the mould of another woman she did not even know!
She wanted Temidayo to love her as she was, as Rose Amaefule, and not because he thought she was a different woman! She would give herself to him as Rose Amaefule, and not Neji Helen!
No, Rose would not, and could not, lose her virginity that way!
She tried to get off from under him, but he was in too much passion to hear her mild protestations. His lips devoured her throat and nipples, driving her hunger up in waves, but she kept her thighs pressed together and would not let him unite their bodies.
“Temi, my love, please wait, please,” she whispered tenderly. “Exercise a little patience, Temi, my love.”
He was beyond hearing her.
The alcohol had not taken over entirely, and his hunger and love needed to be cooled first. He kissed her desperately, and she kissed him back, so absolutely into him.
He would not get up, though, and he continued to kiss her and move his hands over her in a most delicious manner. She was losing, she knew, and very soon he would make her a woman!
There was no way words alone would dissuade him. She squirmed beneath him desperately, but there was no way out. His passion drove him on, and she finally had to part her thighs to admit his furiously seeking girth, and again she felt his tip in her, just about completing the essence of their craving.
There was no way to stop him now…
So Rose Amaefule chose the only option left for her!
She reached upward, grabbed the Mimic Artefact, and desperately pulled it off!
Temi’s face was hovering about hers, his lips descending to cover hers, and then, suddenly he was not looking down at the beautiful, gentle, dark face of Neji Helen, but the beautiful, shaken and broken face of Rose Amaefule.
Temi looked at her with great consternation!
Even in his drunken stupor the look of shock and pain on his face cut into Rose with great violence, and tears came into her eyes immediately. She reached out blindly for him and wound her arms around his neck.
“Temi, my love, you can have me, now!” she whispered in agony. “I give myself to you willingly. Temi, I love you, believe that, and I will give my virginity to you right now, right here, if you will have me. I don’t know when it happened, or how it happened, or even why it happened, but yes, I do love you. You can have me as many times as you want, but I simply couldn’t lose my virginity to a man who thinks I’m some other woman. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t!”
With a roar of anguish and with pain searing through his heart Temidayo launched himself off the bed, pushing her arms away from him and turning to face one of the glassy walls of the incredible aquarium. He pulled his robe which was draped on the footrest of the bed and pulled it on and then belted it.
“Temi, please,” Rose said with tears falling down the sides of her face.
“Get dressed,” he hissed between gritted teeth, his voice bitter, and he did not turn around.
“Temi!” Rose whispered, her voice hurt.
“Get dressed!” he screamed harshly.
She got off the bed, her heart shattered, and then she padded quickly to him and put her arms around his waist and pressed her face to his back.
“I’m so sorry, Temi,” she whispered in a distraught voice. “Please, forgive me. But I’m yours, my heart is yours because I love only you. Take me, my love! I’m all yours!”
With a curse, he pulled her arms off him, spun around, grabbed her by the arms and then lifted and threw her on the bed. She was appalled at the shattered and violent expression on his face as he pointed a trembling finger at her.
“You can connive with them to lie to me in such a manner and still claim you love me? I swear to you, Roselyn Amaefule, if you so much as come near me again, I’ll break your neck!”
He walked past the bed with his head down, and Rose could not move. She stayed on the bed and wept bitterly, knowing that in one moment of personal craving, she had failed woefully in the assignment she had set out to do, and betrayed the others.
Suddenly, she had made herself into a more hated person and knew none of them would understand her. They would hate her, and they would insult her. She would be vilified because that was what they liked doing most, and they would hate her because it gave them a reason to express a negative emotion.
But she knew how she felt, and she knew that she had given her best, but she could not give up her very soul in her, no, not when she loved Temi this hard.
They would crucify her…but maybe, that was best!
She stood up after a while and began to put on her clothes.
And then, fully-dressed, she went out of the beautiful room and retraced her steps morosely through the halls, convinced that by now Temi was pouring out his bitterness on the others, but when she was passing the door of his bedroom, it opened, and he came out, dressed in an all-black battle rig and the Swords of Destiny were slung across his shoulders in the impressive X-shape.
He was dressed for battle!
Temi, the Heir Apparent, was ready for war!
They had planned to give him the passion of love for the woman he loved, hoping that would prod him into action!
But, that had not worked!
Instead, knowing how deeply and painfully they had betrayed him, his boisterous anger and bitter pain had taken over and achieved what they set out to do.
Rose knew as she looked him in his combat attire, that Temi was headed for the White Lands.
She looked into his sad eyes, and she knew that the pain of their ultimate betrayal had achieved what days of begging and coaxing could not achieve. The prince was going after the Dead Olive with bitterness in his heart. Rose stopped in front of him and even though tears slowly spilt down her cheeks, she spoke bravely.
“I’m coming with you, Temi, my love,” she said painfully. “I know you hate me, and I know you detest me! I also know that only royals can enter the White Lands and come back. But I’m going with you, and I’ll die over there possibly. But I can’t’ stay here alone knowing you’re carrying my heart and happiness with you. You can kill me now, my love, because that is the only way you can stop me from coming with you.”
