CHAPTER 24
[wp_ad_camp_1]“I take her first!” cried the giant, the jugular biter. “I’ll have her the whole of today! You can have her afterward!”
“No!” came the frantic cries all around as some of the men openly massaged their throbbing members. “We take turns!”
“We take turns, aye!” several of the men acquiesced.
“Don’t call anybody from town!” someone screamed. “We’ll have our fill like here!”
And as they rushed forward, maddened with lust, Rose finally put a trembling hand on Temi’s shoulder.

“Don’t be silly, Rose,” he said softly.
“They’re too many, Temi,” she whispered. “You can’t possibly fight them all!”
“Not one of these bastards will come close enough to you to see the colour of your eyes,” he murmured savagely as he took a step back. “Step back a bit into the trees, Roselyn. Just enough to give me some space, but not too far. And whatever you do, don’t flee! Don’t give them a chance to separate us.”
“Yes, Temi,” Rose murmured with fright and stepped back, drawing her own sword with a trembling hand.
Temi looked at the incensed lust-filled men.
“You people, listen,” he said in a very cold voice. “I’m passing through to The Ashes, and then to The Desolates. I will give you one chance to let us through. Don’t give me a reason to kill you!”
“You piece of crap!” screamed the giant who still dripped blood from around his mouth from biting his opponent’s jugular. “You’re Demi’s bastard, ain’t ya? Your bloody father imprisoned us here. Today we will take revenge, and tear you off limb by limb, and then take turns at your bloody whore!”
The men roared and waved weapons that ranged from huge clubs, knives, metal-studded planks and crude swords!
“Kill him first!” the giant screamed.
Temi held out his hands, and the Swords Of Destiny sailed into them.
“Fire!” he whispered gently, and the edges of the swords burst into flames instantly.
The crazed men paused for a moment, and then Temidayo did a very strange thing; instead of waiting for the crowd to come toward him, he moved forward and closed in on them.
“Kiti!” the command left his lips, and then he spun gracefully in mid-air and the sword in his right hand came down.
The cannibalistic giant was slightly in the lead, and because he had incurred Temi’s wrath for the savage way he had treated his opponent, and for insulting King Demi, Temi showed no mercy as his sword came down.
It struck the giant on top of his head, and Temi cut him in half from the crown of his head down the juncture of his legs, almost a perfect symmetrical division that made the man’s divided body fall in two opposite directions, smashing the ground and bursting into flames instantly.
The screaming men paused with sudden terror, quite shaken by the fact that their revered champion had been dealt with like a harmless child. And the amount of sheer strength it had taken for Temi to divide the man’s body struck them suddenly, and their sex-crazed faces began to crumble with fear and panic.
“Sikat!” Temi whispered, quite furious, and sent the swords spinning in his hands, moving like a shadow, so fast that he was almost a blur, cutting through the men with no mercy and with such ruthless savagery that they burst into flames one after the other as he landed his swords with deadly accuracy!
They screamed and tried to swamp him, but he was too fast, too strong and too perfect, making them seem like bumbling amateurs as he released his fighting skills with an amazing finesse that Rose had never seen before!
She came slowly out of the trees and watched him moving, fighting, protecting her. He was an epitome of a perfect warrior, a human with the movements of a spirit, a tireless artist that spun, whirled, thrust, slashed and smashed with such fury and devastating accuracy, cutting off limbs and heads in a non-stop show of perfect murdering intent that soon had the men moving back, their initial cries of rape and murder now turning to cries of terror.
They were beasts, but they had met a lion that breathed fire and brimstone, and they knew that if they persisted, they would be absolutely devoured.
And then, in the end, the handful that were left took to their heels, and left the demon prince behind.
When Rose got to Temi’s side, he was not even breathing hard, and as he turned to her she gasped and took a step back from him as she looked at his face.
His lips were drawn back from his teeth, and he seemed to be snarling, the expression of death taking over his countenance completely.
And there was something else that scared her even more!
His eyes were no longer the wonderful grey and black she knew!
Temi’s eyes had become totally black!
No distinct irises and pupils…just a complete, inky blackness!
And he looked so ferocious, so beastly, and so sadistic that he no longer resembled a human being!
And she remembered the words of Commander Freeman.
He had told them once, whilst teaching them the art of total swordsmanship, a technique that involved a series of movements that should be performed as one fluid attack of impenetrable offence, that Dayan Kings had a special ability no mortal could ever even come close to.
Commander Freeman had told them that the Dayan kings were the best fighters, and that at the peak of war they sometimes seemed to transform into savage machines that never got tired…and during this heightened mode of fury, their eyes always turned completely black!
Rose and the other warriors had thought it was just a hoax, a fairy tale, one of the myths of Dayan kings which had been blown completely out of proportion.
But no, she was seeing it now!
“Temi?” she whispered, but he hissed at her, almost snarling, and then he turned his back on her and began to trot toward the town with the sure-footed stealth of a mountain lion, all the while muttering the strange attack commands!
The inhabitants of The Damned had heard him coming!
The ones who had escaped had spread the news!
Some had climbed on top of the buildings with poisoned arrows which they shot at Temi.
The prince jumped into the air snarling, and clapped the Swords of Destiny together! Fierce flames left the swords and sought out the men on the rooftops responsible for the attacks, enveloping and burning them to crisp!
Men jumped out of doorways with swords and other weapons to stop him, but he was always a shade ahead, as if his mind was a sort of radar that picked them off and made him cut them down with relentless fury!
Rose followed behind him as he passed through the gauntlet, a one-man army that knew no stopping!
She admired him.
Oh, yes, she loved him!
She had never seen anything like it, ever!
This was her man protecting her honour!
And then, when the beasts saw that this predator could go on and on and kill all of them, they stopped attacking him. Rose almost laughed when she saw several of them crossing themselves as Temi passed.
And she followed her man through the town of erections.
She had never seen so many erections in her life, erections of different colours, sizes and angles. They stood far away from them with their erections jutting out in front of them, and she shuddered at what would have happened to her if she had not been with Temi.
Finally, they left The Damned behind, and travelled for two days, stopping for short intervals to rest.
And during those two days, they behaved like strangers, barely speaking to each other. This was because Temi’s eyes still glowed a horrible black, and he snarled at her each time she drew near him.
On the third day, they entered a beautiful valley where there was clean water and many delicious fruits. Rose ate hungrily, but Temi barely looked at the fruits.
He trembled slightly as he carefully took off his swords and began to undress slowly.
She watched him.
He was a very fine specimen of manhood indeed, the finest ever created, no doubt. Naked, he waded into the serene pool of water and submerged himself. She sat on the banks with assorted fruits in front of her and watched him scrubbing at his skin with sponge plant. He submerged into the water again, and when he emerged, he looked at her, and his eyes were no longer black, but the wonderful warm eyes of the Temi she loved, and was not afraid of.
Rose got to her feet slowly.
Without looking at him, and with trembling fingers, she slowly unbuttoned her shirt and drew it off her shoulders. Slowly, she took off all her clothes.
Rose looked up at him then, and saw the longing and the passion on his face as he stared at her ethereal beauty.
She waded into the pool, and walked slowly toward him, a delectable beauty that complemented the beauty of the valley. She stopped in front of him, and she looked so innocent and lost, her hands and lips trembling.
Temi put a hand on her cheek and caressed her gently, and then his hands found her shoulders, slid down her sides and gently went around her. With a moan Rose went to him and raised her lips to receive his kiss.
It was not desperate this time.
It was so gentle, so warm, so beautiful.
And as they kissed her tears mingled with her passion. His arms crushed her to his chest as he kissed her with passionate abandon.
She could feel him under the water though, hard and probing on her navel. She reached down and passed a hand over his length lovingly, and he gasped, and kissed her fiercely.
“Temi!” she moaned against his lips. “Oh, Temi, my love! Make love to me, please, now!”
She was suddenly impatient, seeking him, wanting him, needing him.
But he held back and lifted his head, and as she leaned back and looked into his face, she saw a look she had always longed to see, a look of love she had thought she would never see on his face.
“Roselyn, you witch!” he said softly, tenderly and with great passion. “Oh, why have you done this to me? Why have you made me love you so?”
“No!” she cried and pushed away from him, her face agonized. “No, no, no! Temi! Don’t make my life miserable!”
“Miserable?” he asked, confused as he took a step toward her. “Why, Rose, my love? I thought you love me!”
“I love you, Temi, with every breath in my body!” she groaned in anguish as she shook her head. “That is why I followed you here! You know I cannot leave this world, this vile White Lands! It will be easier to live here knowing you don’t love me! But if you love me, and we’re separated, I can’t survive here, Temi, I simply can’t…not if you love me, and I know I could’ve had a wonderful life with you!”
He put his hands on her shoulders and smiled down lovingly at her.
“You will be able to leave with me back to Dayo, my sweet, beautiful Rose,” he whispered and kissed her slowly and tenderly. “Look at the dove bonding symbols…we complete each other, as it has been meant to be all along!”
Again, she stepped back from him.
“What are you talking about, Temi my love?” she asked gravely. “Please don’t give me hope where there is none!”
“Oh, but there is, my darling, my precious!” he said with a smile. “You remember how you held the Royal DayoSword and nothing happened to you?”
“I’ve been thinking about it,” she said painfully. “I came to the conclusion that it was because I genuinely loved you. Maybe, Baba Pedro didn’t love you enough and that was why he was…killed by the power of the sword.”
“No!” Temi said tenderly. “Remember, Pedro Igwe Peter used to be the true wielder of the DayoSword. In fact, he used it for battle many times before my father took it, and the power changed hands. Igwe told me that at any time, the woman who has been created special for the King always held the sword without being harmed…only one woman! And that woman is you, my love! You were created for me, and I for you, to take over the ruling of Dayo, and that is why you have half of my bonding!”
“But…you loved Nneka, and you still love Neji Helen!” she whispered as she shook her head. “If you could have Neji, you would not even look at me.”
He swept her into his arms and looked into her eyes.
“Look at me, Roselyn,” he whispered. “Neji was the first woman I saw when I came out of the cutaneous crust, and I’ll tell you all about that later. She was kind, she was beautiful, and she was so sweet, Rose. We had something great between us, but she was there to serve a purpose, my love. That was what Igwe made me understand! Everything that happened to me has been prophesied, a long time ago! Neji was there to help me come of age, to burst through the cutaneous crust, and give me a wonderful time before my destiny was put before me!
She was the angel who opened my heart to the wonders of love, and yes, Neji Helen will always have a special place in my heart! Nneka was there to help me through the impartation and give me the resolve and confidence to emerge as the leader I am today! Even that betrayal on top of the hills, orchestrated by Daniel and you and your brother, were all part of a design to make me so vulnerable that I could stand impartation from ninety-nine past kings! Do you know why?”
Rose shook her head gently as her tears fell silently, and raised a hand to his handsome face and traced his lips.
“No, my love, my darling,” she whispered. “Why?”
“I was being prepared for this journey, my darling,” he said tenderly. “It was prophesied that you and Igwe would ride with me through The Mist, that one of you would die! I am the catalyst, my love. The Dead Olive was just part of the bigger picture. The most important battle lies in The Ashes, the area of the White Lands occupied by Leke Bally and a host of evil spirits! Apparently, I’m going to engage them in battle in what the Oracles described as The Purge, and if I defeat them, those vile spirits would no longer be a threat to Dayo or Earth, the two places I’ll be taking charge of! So, Rose, if you’re meant to be my Queen, my love, my heart…you and I will leave the White Lands together and return to Dayo.”
She pushed him back with a frantic groan.
“No, Temi, I can’t!” she screamed, her heart broken. “Every time I see that Royal DayoSword I remember how I used it to kill the spiritual essence of my own mother! I saw the expression on her face, my love! It will haunt me forever!”
“She was already dead, my love,” he said earnestly as he tried to hold her. “What you did saved my life for this final moment!”
“I can’t forgive myself, Temi,” she whispered quaveringly. “I loved that woman! And I killed her spirit! My heart, Temi, my heart!”
Desperately he grabbed her and held her tightly and spoke earnestly.
“Your place is by my side, Roselyn, my sweet love!” he whispered urgently. “I’m so sorry you had to do that to your mother. But believe me, my love, we’ll get through this together. Let me be your comfort, your solace, Roselyn. I can face everything with you by my side. You rode into hell with me. We’re one. Don’t abandon me now.”
She wept bitterly as he drew her into his arms, and his lips found hers again, and they kissed tenderly, sweetly.
This time it was with desperation, and she had no fear as she reached down and curled her hand around his girth, causing him to shiver with desire.
“Make love to me,” she whispered desperately.
“Wait, Roselyn, you witch,” he groaned. “There will be a great wedding when we return, and a good honeymoon in the Aquarium, yes, my love! There, we will make love, and celebrate our love.”
“A love that will last eternally, Temi, my sweet darling!”
And as they continued kissing fiercely, lovingly, revelling in the awesome discovery of the power of new mutual love, Temi felt himself yanked savagely out of her arms!
He was lifted high into the air by an invisible force and slammed fiercely on the ground beside the lake!
The slam was so savage that he felt blood in his mouth, and looked up dazedly.
“Temi!” Rose screamed and began to run toward the bank.
Just as she got out of the lake Temi was sucked up again and sailed into the air, his arms flailing helplessly as he turned head over heels in the sky, and then he was dropped savagely on the ground again far away from Rose.
Weeping, frightened and terrified by this evil attack, Rose grabbed the Royal DayoSword. It seemed that the attack was planned! Whoever was behind it wanted to separate Temi from the Royal DayoSword.
The sword sizzled in her hand as she rushed forward, and when she saw that Temi had been sucked into the air violently again, she screamed and threw the Royal DayoSword!
The Royal DayoSword sailed into the air, sizzling and flashing, and then it landed into the right hand of Temidayo!
His body fell down out of view of Rose.
She could not stop running!
She ran until she was out of breath, and when she finally crested that hill, she saw two shining metal pillars with skulls on top.
The ground beyond the pillars was very white, and she could see Temidayo lying still on the ground. Rose rushed forward toward him, but she struck something invisible between the metal pillars, and she was thrown back forcibly.
She got to her feet and rushed forward, sticking her hand out tentatively, and it struck an electric-like invisible fence that shot painfully through her arm!
She knew this was The Ashes…
Evil had found Dayan prince, the catalyst for The Purge…
And she was not allowed to enter!
