Episode 76

Quincy’s room:

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

(talks with her back facing the door when she hears the door been opened) I knew you will come to your senses and crawl to my feet again Mr. man. All my life no man has ever got the courage to see my nakedness and not crave to have a taste of me. I was wondering where on earth you got that stupid courage to walk out of this room knowing very well what you had to do. You are so lucky I’m in a good mood today like you will see what I will do to you.

Quincy:

(clears his throat before talking) If you were not in a good mood what will you do madam nurse and what are you talking about?

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

(senses danger after hearing her boyfriend’s voice behind her in the room, she quickly takes some steps backwards and turns her body to face him) I will starve you with my entire body for the next six months, I will make sure you see Canaan but your feet will never take a step there. I will always arouse your feelings and leave you unattended to. (shakes her chest for her breast to dangle a bit)

Quincy:

(swallows his saliva very hard as his eyes are fixed on the dangling breast) Try that with me and you will see the monster in me, now come here and let me have access to you my gold mine.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

This gold mine concession you are mining from is an illegal one and the government is against illegal mining, say no to galamsey. If you want to own it, then you know what to do. Buyers and investors are making frantic efforts to acquire it so if you play any dull moves then you have yourself to blame.

Quincy:

I will kill anyone who tries to share you with me and I swear by heaven and earth, even if that person is my blood brother, I will still end his life on this earth. I can share my food, drink, dress, money, mother, room and other things of mine with others but for you, any man who makes any advance towards you should consider himself as good as dead. I will murder that fool and bury him without any other person knowing. If you care to know am obsess over you and you have possessed my entire mind and heart. If you are a bible then be assured that am going to be your preacher, if you are a religion then am going to be your number one follower, if you are political party then am going to be your number one flagbearer, if you are a pomade then am going to rub you on me every second even if I have not taken my bath and if you are food then I will eat you over and over again without getting fed up.

Hello, my boy, how are you doing?

Michael Ansah:

Good day Papa, am very fine and how about you and the entire family?

Opana:

We are under the canopy of the most high God. How is Accra treating you and have you landed yourself any job as at now?

Michael Ansah:

Well, Accra has been showing and exposing me to the main side of life Papa. Thankfully one of my friends back at the university today surprised me with some electronic gadgets that I will use in doing my work. Papa, you need to see how sophisticated the machines are and the kind of services it will help me render to people. Papa, in some few months time you will hear my name on the television and radio by the help of God who strengthens me.

Opana:

That is good to hear, you are now proving to me that the Ansah blood runs through you and that you are the heir to succeed me in the future when I join my ancestors. Since you are a big man now I won’t hide things from you now my son, I sold my parcel of lands that I wanted to hand over to you when you get married in some years time.

Michael Ansah:

But why are you telling me this Papa, if you have already executed your plans?

Opana:

Son, I sold the land for a good course, the day you left this place to the city, your sister was knocked down by a septic tanker and the driver took to his heels. Your sister was rushed to the hospital and per critical examinations by the doctors she had to be flown abroad for proper medical treatment if not the worse might happen.

Michael Ansah:

Gracious God, Papa and you are now informing me of this accident and what has happened to my little sister? I am coming back to the village to search for that fool who almost killed my sister, I will so deal with him that he will never sit behind a steering wheel again.

Opana:

(cuts in) Hey hold it there young man, this battle isn’t meant for you to fight, the well being of your sister is my utmost responsibility which am performing marvellously. The money I raised from selling that land is enough to get your sister back to her feet and I bargained with the buyer to the extent that, the person will build a big house for you at the end of the day so don’t worry your head over me selling that land and you coming back won’t make any difference, the police officers here are running series of investigations on the matter.

Michael Ansah:

With what I just heard from you, I retract my rude statement earlier on. So how is mummy taking the whole thing and have you informed Leticia and Deborah about their little sister’s injury?

Opana:

No my son, you are the only one am opening up to because you are the man amongst them and the eldest. I don’t want to distract them with their studies back in school, your mother and I are at the solid helms of affairs and the doctors have assured us that after your little sister undergoes surgery in the States, everything will be fine. I want this conversation to be between the two of us and under no circumstances must any of your sisters hear of this conversation. Am equally glad you were also gentleman enough to retract your harsh comments when you realised you were quick to react, that is the hallmark of an educated gentleman. Your little sister and mother are likely to leave the shores of Africa by tomorrow evening or the day after.

Michael Ansah:

Oh that sounds great, I want to assure you that no living soul will hear about this conversation and if the need be for me to meet you at the airport when you are seeing them off, please don’t hesitate to notify me.

Opana:

Okay, son, I am happy you are not sounding depressed after I opened up to you on your sister’s predicament, this is a true definition that you have now matured into a full-grown man and you are no longer that little boy I use to know. Work hard and play less in the city and remember “you can lose money when chasing after women but you can’t lose women when chasing after money”. When you take time to work hard and build a reputation for yourself women will rather chase after you and you will not be the one to chase after them. Remember no woman loves poverty or hardship so ignore those women who will come your way as a distraction because they will dump you when they realise you are a broke ass. I know you are a sharp guy so I won’t talk much after the coach does his team selection and players get to the field the rest is for them to prove to the world that yes they are professionals. Go and get rich my boy.

Michael Ansah:

Thank you very much, Papa for your fatherly advice, I promise to make you proud of me very soon.

Opana:

Okay son, always place it behind the back of your mind that you have my support both physically and spiritually. Let me leave you so that you continue with what you were doing, I will call you when I get the final confirmation from the medical team working on the travelling documents of your sister and mother. Stay safe and remember never to take what doesn’t belong to you or pay someone who does good to you with evil. (call ends)

Kwaku Mike sits for a while to reflect on the last words of his father before the call ended, he wondered if his father was monitoring him through the necklace he had on or it was just a matured talk. A call came through his phone and that was what brought him back to himself and checking the number it was a landline, he didn’t hesitate to answer the call.

On phone:

Caller:

Hello Mickey, this is Julia, how are you feeling right now?

Michael Ansah:

 (playing smart) I’m feeling better now, thanks for your concern towards me and I will also seize this opportunity to show my profound gratitude for the things you bought for me. I must say I haven’t recovered from the shock I got when I opened the bag and saw the contents in it, my dear may God bless you exceedingly and enlarge your territory.

Caller:

Amen, and I hope you liked everything you saw in the bag?

Michael Ansah:

Did you say like? To use the word like is an understatement my dear, simply put I love everything I saw in the bag and as I said I appreciate it so much. The things you bought for me is the best gift any human being born by a woman has ever given to me, I know it cost you a fortune to acquire those things for me and am looking for an avenue where I can reciprocate this wonderful gesture done me.

Caller:

(being sarcastic) Hehehe, someone is bombarding me with big university grammar over here oooo, someone should call 911 for me because am passing out with the heavy grammar been thrown at me.

Michael Ansah:

Hahahaha see you, who speaks better English than you over here, you want to tease me this evening erh?

Caller:

Lol!!! Are you free this evening?

Michael Ansah:

Yeah am free, I don’t have any appointment this evening. Why do you want me to run any errand for you?

Caller:

Not at all my dear, I just want company since I don’t have any friend around to engage me in any form of discussion or conversation and the annoying part is that I have been checked into a presidential suite and there is no one here to talk to.

Michael Ansah:

Oh if it is company you want, I can come over with Quincy, he is a good comedian who can make you pee on yourself with his funny jokes.

Caller:

 Oh really but three is a crowd you know, hahahaha.

Michael Ansah:

Oh okay if you say so I have heard you, kindly give me directions to the hotel you are lodging in so I prepare myself and come over at once, I can sense boredom in your voice.

Caller:

I’m in Kempinski hotel and in their presidential suite, I will notify the receptionist of your coming so you won’t have any problem coming over to my end with their unnecessary questions. Also, don’t bother eating when coming over because we will be served with a special dinner I will order for both of us. Let me leave you to prepare so you come over right now.

Michael Ansah:

Okay, my dear, I will be there even before you expect me, see you later. (call ends)

After the call Kwaku Mike sends a text message to Quincy to alert him that he wanted to come over into the room to freshen up and step out, Quincy replied that he could come over and he notified Maabena to wear something.

Quincy:

Please find something to wear because Mike wants to come in and freshen up. Honestly I don’t like what I came to see inside here seeing you naked, you know am no longer alone over here so certain things you do must stop and you must try to stick to the initial plan that we drew together.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

So, because your friend has moved in here my position and place here is now under review huh? So now I can’t comfortably do things I use to do in here again right? This nonsense must stop this very moment because I can’t pretend as if I am cool with that.

Quincy:

It’s not like Mike will be staying here forever, his stay here is temporary so restrain some amount of patience for him, he will move the moment things fall in place for him.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

Are you listen to the crap that came out of your mouth? Does it mean if after five years things have not gone well for him, he will still be squatting with you and I will continue to be treated like I don’t matter or exist. See you better do something now and I mean now, am giving you three months to sort yourself out with him or else don’t blame me for my actions, don’t say I didn’t warn you when I decide to react.

Quincy:

Baby, take your time and face the reality of this matter in a very matured way.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

Mr. lover boy, I am not raising a debatable issue, I have made my intentions known to you so please just respect my view. (covers herself with the bedsheet on the bed)

Michael Ansah:

(knocks and enters the room) Sorry about the distraction my presence here will create, I will rush and take a quick shower so that I catch up on an appointment with Julia.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

(hisses loudly) As if I care about what you want to do and the input your presence brings.

Quincy:

Maabena will you please stop this needless behaviour you are putting up? I thought we were through with this issue, why have you grown cold towards Mike all of a sudden?

Kwaku Mike enters the bathroom and Quincy follows him in there to apologise on behalf of his girlfriend. In return, Kwaku Mike told him not to worry because in his head he knew the very reason why Maabena was behaving that way towards him. He told Quincy to go and take a look at the things which was in the bag Julia brought for them as he also took his shower, after taking his shower he comes out to iron one of his best shirts and jeans trouser then he dresses up and remembers to put on the golden Rolex watch that was given to him by Henrietta Barnor and he added a very nice perfume he had in his things then he stepped out of the room to go and meet Julia. He stopped a taxi and told the driver where he was going and in less than forty minutes the taxi driver got him to the huge edifice of Kempinski hotel, he paid the driver off at the entrance since taxis were not allowed to enter the premises of the five-star hotel. The security at the check post inspected him with a detection machine to see if he was clean from weapons before he was permitted to enter the main compound, upon getting to the reception and making his reason for coming into the hotel known to the receptionist, he was directed to the very floor that the presidential suite was. He used the elevator to the floor he was to see Julia and in a matter of seconds he was standing in front of Julia’s room, he knocked and heard her voice from the inner room to come inside and make himself comfortable as she was taking a quick shower inside the bathroom. About five minutes later she came out from the bathroom wearing a very nice transparent nightgown which was exposing everything on Julia from her waist beads to the pant she was wearing and the pointed nipples of her breast which was standing erected in her nightgown. She lit a stick of cigarette and blew the smoke into the air.

 

Julia:

Sorry if you are not comfortable with me smoking, the cold weather out there had a great influence on me which has turned me into a smoker.

Michael Ansah:

But you know smoking is harmful to your health as it is stated clearly on the box of the cigarette and they say smokers die young so please if there is a way you could use to quit smoking it will really help a lot. Looking at the ceiling in this room there is a smoke detector so can you quench the cigarette before it triggers the alarm.

Julia:

Oh that one, I made one of the hotel workers to disconnect it so that I can smoke freely in this room. I don’t feel comfortable when people stare at me when am smoking. (telephone rings)

Caller:

Hello ma’am there are some men here looking for you?

Julia:

Some men? Am not really expecting any visitors as at now, the person I was expecting is already in so who could those men be?

Can you guess who those men are?

Episode 77

 

 

Caller:

Mmmm, ma’am the leader of the men who spoke to me said they are from the airline you travelled with.

Julia:

Airline? But how did they know I checked into this hotel in the first place and what did they say they want from me?

Caller:

Ma’am for that I’m not obliged to ask them such questions since that is not part of the duties I’m assigned to.

Julia:

Hmmmm, this a tough one for me since you said they are all men, how many are they in the first place?

Caller:

They are three in number and looking at the ID cards hanging on their necks I can boldly attest to the fact that they are genuine people.

Julia:

Who are you to judge my dear, before anything are the CCTV cameras in your hotel working efficiently?

Caller:

Yes ma’am, every two weeks maintenance are done on them so if it is about capturing you or any information then be rest assured that you will get quality and outstanding pictures.

Julia:

Good please get your cameras to be fixed on them for now so that if they do anything silly they can be tracked down. Give me a minute, I will call back to either inform you whether I should join them or they should join me here in my suite. (ends call)

 Michael Ansah:

What is it Julia, you look worried?

Julia:

Yeah, I was just told on the phone that some men were looking for me.

Michael Ansah:

So why should you be worried if some people are looking for you? Ain’t you expecting any visitors right now and who did they say they are?

Julia: I’m not expecting anyone, my dear, I don’t even remember telling anyone that I have checked in into this hotel in the first place so this whole thing of them looking for me is a bit alarming.

Michael Ansah:

I asked you if they told the receptionist who they are and where they were coming from?

Julia:

Mmmmm, the receptionist said they were from the airline I travelled to the country with. The reason why am worried is how they got to know where am lodging in the first place, you know when you fill the immigration forms they only ask you your purpose for coming to the country or place, but not where you will lodge or live during your stay in the country or place. Honestly, their presence here is not amusing to me at all my dear.

Michael Ansah:

How about me following you downstairs to meet them at the reception if they have any bad intentions I believe my presence will prevent them from executing their plans.

Julia:

I think I will buy into your idea and follow your plan, thanks for honouring my invitation if not I wouldn’t know how to face this kind of issue.

Right in front of Kwaku Mike, Julia undresses and picks another dress from one of her bags and puts it on. All this while Kwaku Mike has been stealing glances at the naked body which was some few steps away from his reach, the young man between his legs kept giving him hazard signals as the agama lizard kept nodding it head of utmost endorsement with the information the eyes were feeding the brain with. After she was done dressing she told Kwaku Mike to escort her downstairs and Kwaku Mike gallantly stood up with his chest up like a soldier man who has seen his superior, they left the room used the elevator and within a twinkle of an eye they were at the grand floor and they walked majestically to the receptionist.

 

Julia:

Hello, where are the people looking for me?

Receptionist:

Ma’am, they are the men sitting at the waiting area at the left corner of the hall, I did as you instructed me so please don’t worry at all concerning your safety, our security system here is tight as the one at the central bank.

Julia:

Good, I have already fallen in love with this hotel services and your personal relationship with your clients and customers in less than my three hours stay in this place, I will see you later. (walks together with Kwaku Mike to meet the men who were looking for her)

Michael Ansah:

(a bit scared but pretends he’s very okay and he whispers to Julia) Don’t worry at all my dear, I have got your back solidly and any stupid move any of those men take, you will see the Hercules side of me.

Julia:

(smiles and talks as they get to the men) Hello gentlemen, I was told you were looking for me, please how may I help you?

Leader:

Hello madam, we are from the airline which you boarded to the country. We got an alert that some of your things interchanged with another passenger and since we didn’t want any action to be taken against you or our airline, we made a swift follow up to this place.

Michael Ansah:

So how did you know that she was lodging in this hotel in the first place?

Leader:

Excuse me and who are you in the first place?

Julia:

That is my husband if you care to know. I believe he has every reason to know why some men are looking for his wife at this time of the day and especially when she just came back from a long journey and trying to have a very quiet time with his partner.

Leader:

Oh sorry for cutting into your quiet time with your wife sir, we promise not to take much of your time.

Michael Ansah:

(feeling big with the introduction and explanation Julia gave) You better make it snappy and as I said how did you know she was lodging in this hotel? Your explanations should be enough to persuade me or else I will call on the security for you because you are stalking and following the movement of my wife unlawfully.

Second Man:

That won’t be necessary sir, our coming here is to make things very easy for your wife, we took her burden off from coming back to our office to track her missing or interchanged bag. We tried to catch up with her at the airport but she left with a V8 car, we chased after you with our office car but along the way we short fuel so we lost track of you, per the direction the V8 took we have been to all the big hotels in that area before luckily getting to know that you were lodging here. We are not bad people and if you want we can give you our ID cards so you call our office to confirm if truly we are from the airline service.

Julia:

So, to cut the long story short how may I be of help to you guys?

Third Man:

Madam this bag here has your name written on the name tag of it, we wanted to get it across to you so that we would save you the time of chasing your bag here and there.

Julia:

(eyes almost popping up) Jeez you don’t know how this bag is so important to me, my documents and the purpose for coming to Ghana is in this big and if I were to lose this bag, it would have been a very big blow for me and it would have caused doom to my business partners. Thanks very much gentlemen, I  really appreciate your coming and efforts, honestly am very touched with the kind gesture you have shown me. I now know why your customer base is increasing by the day, thank you so much.

Third Man:

(hands the bag over to Julia) Please kindly check for us if everything in the bag is intact or not.

Julia:

That won’t be necessary sir, would you have bothered to locate me if you guys had taken anything from the bag? Going through this bag in front of you even is an insult to you personalities, I have to rush upstairs and get the bag I interchanged with my bag, I believe the owner at this time may also be worried by now.

Michael Ansah:

Oh you are right my dear, let’s go and get the bag upstairs for them so that they convey it to the rightful owner early to avoid any inconvenience.

Julia:

(plays smart) Oh baby, why don’t you keep them company whiles I quickly rush to get the other bag for them. I know they might be in a hurry by now.

Second Man:

For that, you are very right, we need to get back to the office right this moment so we don’t want to waste any time at all.

Julia:

Guys, I and my hubby will like to say a very big thank you to you in the right way later, we will pass by your office later to show you how appreciative we are to this mindblowing gesture. Let me also rush inside and get the bag that swapped with my bag earlier on for you guys. (leaves them to get the other bag)

First Man:

Oh that won’t be necessary ma’am, we are not obliged to take a dime from any of our clients for any service or favour we render to them. We are equally happy the airline company that we represent sees to it that our costumers always wear a smile on their faces.

Michael Ansah:

That is great to hear gentlemen but as my wife said, to whom much is given, much is expected from. We will know what to do for you guys later.

First Man:

Very well then, we shall not take much of your time then.

Back at Quincy’s end:

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

Bae am not happy the way you spoke to me earlier on, you belittled me in front of Mike and now you are pampering me like a Queen on your bed.

Quincy:

See erh, you are the only woman apart from my mother that I cherish so much on this earth. What you did earlier on was not necessary, I have told you that Mike will move out very soon so you just have to be patient for a while. I am acting like a mother who beats the child with the right hand and draws the child back with the left hand to pamper the child. Mike has been of great help to me and this is my time to reciprocate the good things he did for me, I wouldn’t like you or any person born by a woman to come between us, please get this message registered in your head.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

So in other words, what are you trying to insinuate Quincy?

Quincy:

My dear, the writings are boldly written on the wall, read and understand (gets up from the bed to the washroom)

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

(talking to herself) So is this how this guy wants to play? He is now prioritising me that stupid fool over me, if he didn’t get to hear Sampson and Delilah’s story at the Sunday school then he should go back and listen to it. I will make him crawl on his knees to beg me for comparing me to that fool, what am I even doing here at a place where my existence is not been seen? My purpose for coming here has been ruined by this stupid fool and the guy I call my man, he is even worse that I simply don’t know the adjective I will qualify him with. When you play with the dog, it licks your mouth and based on this, I know what to do. (gets up from the bed and starts dressing up)

Quincy:

(walks in from the washroom and sees Maabena dressing up) Bae, what are you doing?

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

And what do you think am doing? Don’t give me the reason to think that you are daft, I came here to spend quality time with my man and broke a good news to him but in return, I was received here like am not important so I am taking leave to my house where I am treated like a princess. When the corpse gets someone to carry him that is when he tells the carrier where to pass, I won’t subscribe to that nonsense.

Quincy:

Can you please calm down? You are taking things personally and in the wrong direction, please give me a little time to sort things out with Mike. I can’t throw him out from this place just like that my love, we have come far and I wouldn’t like a woman to come between us, he will move out in some few months time.

Maabena Boaduwaa:  

Oh really!!! Since you prefer friendship more than your relationship, tell that lizard in between your legs that when he is hungry he should find somewhere else to go and satisfy himself and if I get to find out that you are cheating on me too, I will make your life miserable Quincy, I will let you world cave in on you and trust me, I mean every  damn word coming out of my mouth. I don’t have to remind you that I have facts about your friend that when I open my mouth, heads will be rolling in the air. All the same, I came here to inform you that I have been promoted to the rank of a matron at the hospital, if you want to see me here again then that will be when Mike has packed out of this place. (walks out without waiting to hear any word from Quincy)

I have to be very careful the way I go about things before I shoot myself in the foot, I have to stamp my feet solidly on the ground before I lose my grip. Now I find myself in two worlds, should I go with my friend or lover? Women are unpredictable most times and as my dad use to say “fear women and live long,” if I decide to throw Mike out from this place where would he go since I forced him to join me in the city and on the other hand losing Maabena will be the biggest blow I will ever get. She is my dream woman and the woman I want and wish to spend the rest of my life wit., I suffered before getting her and losing her now will be a disaster to my whole being, God if you did a miracle for Abraham, Joseph, Job, Samuel, Isaac and the other guys in the bible then please this is my time to also get my miracle. Please touch the heart of Maabena to be sober or let someone rent a room for Mike so he packs out, now I can’t please both of them and I can’t equally lose any of them since they are both important to me. indeed where God boils his food, that is where the devil also roasts his smoked fish but whatever happens, I will overcome this battle as a man, my best legal advisor the pillow will assist me in my decision making.

Maabena stops a taxi and jumps in and as the car drove off she got herself thinking, if I don’t play smart this idiot called Mike might ruin my relationship with Quincy. But honestly, this guy has guts paaa oooo, ever since I started chasing men, no man born of a woman has ever resisted me or turned his back on me. I have been the one playing difficult for them to get me but look at me today been rejected by a guy who is even squatting with my boyfriend, hmmmm the world is something paa oooo, I flex men with expensive cars and money and here I am been flexed by a nobody. I have to do everything possible to clear him from Quincy’s end before he tells him anything, if he will succumb to my demand then we will move along nicely but if he is adamant then he has himself to blame.

Back at the Hotel:

Julia’s Suite:

My God if this bag got to the wrong hands that would be my end, this concealment is so far the huge one I have been mandated to handle and if anything goes wrong my life would be in great danger. Let me check if everything is in place first before I hand it over to the boss, I don’t want any problem with that man because the way he talks to me most times, it is very scary.

Hotel Waiting Area:

Michael Ansah:

Guys let me check on my wife, she has kept long and you know women, by now she is standing in front of the mirror to check if she is looking gorgeous before she walks back to us and I can see you are in a hurry to get back to your office.

Leader:

You are very right sir, I wish we were already in the office because some senior officers will be coming round to check if all the night shift staffs have reported to work on time.

Michael Ansah:

Give me a few minutes and I will be back with her or the the bag in question. Excuse me gentlemen (rushes to the elevator and makes way to Julia’s suite)

Julia’s Suite:

Julia:

(gives a breath of relief) Ah thank God everything is intact, how was I going to explain myself if anything went wrong. I must find a nice way to reward these guys that brought my bag to me and make them my friends at all cost, they might be useful and helpful to me in the near future. (door opens)

Michael Ansah:

Hey, the guys are still waiting for you and you are standing in front of the bed doing nothing.

Julia:

You scared me, Mickey, you should have at least knocked before entering, what if I was naked?

Michael Ansah:

Hahaha did you say I should knock and what if you were naked? Have you forgotten that you undressed before me a while ago before we went to meet the guys downstairs? Were you under the influence of something by then?

Julia:

(playing smart) Don’t be silly, Mr man, I think I have misplaced something but I can’t simply figure out what that thing is and the men from the airline are also waiting for me downstairs.

Michael Ansah:

(cuts in)  Let me get the bag to them so we don’t keep them waiting for long, they are really in a hurry and delaying them any further will be bad news for them when they get to the office. They shouldn’t suffer for a good deed they did for you or better still us, do you intend to give them anything as a gift or token for the gesture they did for you?

Julia:

I hope you have settled everyone who needs to be sorted out? I don’t want what happened the other time to repeat itself again because I won’t forgive you if there is any lapses this time around. I and the other members are driving to the place and we will be there soon.

Ginola:

Boss there is no cause for alarm, I have personally seen to everything and there won’t be a reason for you to complain or have any problem. The last time the management of the hotel was having some technical challenges so the payment I made didn’t reflect in their database hence that negative approach from the lady who came to you.

Boss:

Well I hope everything will go as stated by you and let me warn and promise you that if anything goes bad, erh, God will be my witness to what will happen to you. You know that am very pissed off today and I won’t forgive anyone who does a mistake to any assignment I have tasked any of you to do. Call everyone you know should be present for this meeting because the moment I and Mr Karl Simpson gets there the meeting will commence without waiting for anyone because when the elder baths in the house then it means the job has ended.

Ginola:

I have called almost everyone who needs to be present here so boss don’t worry your head at all. By the time you get here, everyone will be seated waiting for you so that the meeting will commence.

Boss:

My dear, I hope you have got everything you’ll need there packed, aeroplanes don’t wait for its passengers but rather the passengers come waiting for it so they can get onboard. It’s your first time travelling outside the country so I will give you a little advice, when you get to both airports (Kotoka and JFK airport) don’t try to play a good Samaritan role by helping anyone with his or her bag or luggage. Also don’t bother to assist anyone who tells you to help hold the child or try to help someone who is sick, bear in mind you are not a flight attendant or medical practitioner and moreover you haven’t even cured or assisted your own daughter well enough. The only person you can render a helping hand to is the one you are travelling with. The hospital at America will delegate someone or persons to pick you up at the arrival hall when you step out of the airport.

Akua Yankey:

So my love you mean even if I see someone in a distressed manner I shouldn’t bother to go near the person?

Opana:

That is exactly what I told you my wife, some people fell victims to the scenarios I gave and they are still serving their jail sentence because they couldn’t defend themselves well when they were found wanting. Also don’t forget to get cardigans for yourself and that of our daughter because I learnt the weather out there isn’t friendly and people of your type who are down with rheumatism are going to find it a bit difficult to cope with the cold weather. Also take the advantage and speak with the doctors out there to help you with their medication since they have powerful and potent drugs over there.

Akua Yankey:

Opana:

Akua Yankey:

Oh sweetheart how can I make fun of you when you are teaching me something that I don’t know? Am only enjoying the lessons since am a greenhorn here, I have never travelled through the airport or with a plane before so what you are doing is only in my favour and for this, tonight, you know am going to be rough with you in the bedroom.

Opana:

Hehehe wait oooo, is that a threat, warning, caution or advice? If you know my plans for you also like you will be asking for mercy right about now. You are leaving me here for almost a month and you expect me to let you go free this evening huh, a Ga man will say “obaa na”, you will see the new me and the stuff I’m made of.

Akua Yankey:

You know am a Fanti woman and such things or words don’t scare me at all. Bring all the arsenals you have in your armoury because am having an antidote for you that will make you plead for mercy tonight.

Opana:

All the same when we get to the battlefield we shall see the winner. What time did the doctor say he will discharge our daughter tomorrow because we have to travel a very long way to the city.

Akua Yankey:

He said she will be discharged early tomorrow morning but she will be kept at the hospital and later in the day, he will let the hospital ambulance drop us at the airport.

Opana:

Well, I don’t like the idea of us travelling to the city in an ambulance but I guess we don’t have a choice. Also, did he say anything about your travelling documents?

Akua Yankey:

He said it is ready and that we shouldn’t worry about anything because everything is in place ranging from hotel reservation, hospital bills and the team of doctors to operate on her.

Opana:

Ah, what resounding news my dear, am happy that the doctor has kept to his word. With this, I promise to give him a coffin for free if he dies or loses any of his close family members.

Akua Yankey:

Ah, my love, do you have to say a thing like that? Can’t you give him anything else apart from a coffin?

Opana:

Akua, don’t spoil my mood this very moment, does anyone work at Ecobank and receive his salary from Zenith bank? I do and sell coffin so that is one thing I can give freely without going to buy it and you know how expensive my coffins are. Sorry, for the delay guys, you know women and how they are slow with things. Over here in my hand is the bag which was exchanged with my wife’s bag, please apologise on our behalf when the owner comes for it and please take this small token to be fuel into your car.

Leader:

Thank you very much sir but we can’t accept the money you are giving us, it will look like we are taking or accepting a bribe for the service we provided.

Michael Ansah:

Oh don’t be silly gentleman, who is talking about bribe here, I and my better half find it amazing to reward nice people like you with something small. Refusing to accept this small token will be like rejecting our friendship and moreover, we are the people giving it out to you because you didn’t ask for it so no one can term it as taking a bribe, please my wife will feel offended if you don’t accept this money.

Leader:

Mmmmm I guess with your explanation I have nothing more to say, please inform your wife that I and my colleagues are grateful for her generosity towards us.

Michael Ansah:

I will convey your message to her, we will pay you a surprise visit to your office very soon. Drive safely to your office and have a great evening.

All men gave a chorus answer and left the hotel to their office. Meanwhile, Julia is also in her suite planning something……….
