Episode 51

Opana gets to the estate developer’s end and he tells him his purpose for coming over.

Opana

Good morning Mr Addo, I will make my mission of being here very brief so that you can proceed with your day’s activities.

Mr Addo

Good morning Mr Ansah, let me offer you something first as courtesy demands. Mmmm Esi get my visitor some fruit juice and snacks. Mr Ansah please feel at home.

Opana

Oh, I feel more comfortable being addressed as Opana. I came here in respect to the visit you paid some time back regarding my parcel of lands and palm plantation.

Mr Addo

Oh, that is good but please let my wife be part of this discussion. She is my business partner in the estate development business.

Esi

Sir, please your fruit juice and snacks is served.

Mr Addo

Very good, please call your madam for me right now, tell her to stop everything she is doing and join us immediately . We have an important guest here.

(A very beautiful woman with well endowed curves joins Opana and Mr Addo shortly)

Mr AddoOpana this is my better half and business partner, she is Mrs Pearl Addo.

Opana

Nice meeting you, madam and for you Mr Addo, I must confess that you have eyes for quality and good things. Your wife is an epitome of beauty and she looks like the first lady of oud country, indeed behind every successful man is a very pretty woman who assists him in decision making.

Mrs Pearl Addo

Am flattered with your words sir and if it was not my husband here, I will say you are trying to flirt with me……(she smiles).

Opana

(laughing out loud) You are equally full of humour Mrs Addo, can I even afford to buy your pomade? Please ooo don’t give me the chance to choke on my laughter.

Mr Addo

I feel am the luckiest person on  earth with my wife beside me. You can only admire her but she remains my wife forever.

Opana

Hahahaha that is very true, please let me go straight to my reason for coming into your house this morning. The last time you came to my end, you registered your interest in my palm plantation and lands. I turned your offer down even though you gave me good reasons to sell my land to you. I had the chance recently to travel to some of the neighbouring communities around this town and I saw some of the developments that you have brought over to those place and I must confess I really liked what I saw, I have always been someone who has taste for beautiful things as such I don’t settle for less in my endeavours. I realised that if you are given the opportunity you will turn the fortune of this community around by bringing investors and billionaires to it. Upon deliberations with my wife who is not here at the moment, I have decided to sell my lands and palm plantation to you on some terms and conditions. If you are okay with it, we will go into a documentation process which my lawyer will come up with.

Mr Addo

Oh, this is good news Opana, can you brief me a little on your terms and conditions?

Opana

Mmmm first am selling my lands in the dollar currency and also when you complete building on the land I sell to you, you will give me one of the expensive houses you built on it.

Mrs Pearl Addo

But sir, isn’t your offer too much?

Opana

My dear, how much is too much? My little research on your estates has revealed that you don’t sell your houses or estates in our cedi currencies. As such, what is the big deal if you buy the land you will build on in dollars? I believe you know where the land is and I wouldn’t like to tell you the number of people who have been to my place with the interest of purchasing it, I don’t know why I even came here to discuss business with you in the first place.

Mr Addo

Sweetheart please can you allow me to handle this matter, Opana please don’t be angry with what my wife said. You know how women like to do business sometimes.

Opana

Oh am not angry but I equally don’t like doing business with women either. So are you interested in my clause or you are not cool with it?

Back to the mansion of the Boss

Boss

Scorpion I hope you came with good news?

Scorpion

Boss, am sorry but it seems that guy is smarter than what I was thinking.

Boss

What do you mean by that?

Scorpion

Boss you can’t imagine that guy outsmarted a nurse at the hospital he was taking treatment from, injected him with a substance that made him sleep for him to abscond.

Ginola

Scorpion why are you not telling the boss that we came in contact with him but he gave us wrong direction which aided him to escape from us easily.

Boss

Whaaat? Scorpion I can see now that you have lost it and you can’t sting anymore, the poison in you is finished and it’s about time I dispose and relieve you of your duties in this cartel. Your incompetence is becoming unpardonable and if I continually allow you to spearhead my operations, you will sink my ship in the ocean. Am giving you twenty-one days to get me that fool, or else Ginola will take you position and lead my operations, you know what that means.

Scorpion

I’m very much aware of that boss and I promise to smoke that guy out very soon.

Boss

Henceforth you and Ginola are going to work hand in hand and don’t try to be superior over him. If by the time I have given you, that fool is not brought to me, then I will give Ginola the authority to lead the boys including you. Do I make myself clear.

Scorpion

It’s crystal clear boss.

Ginola

Thank you very much boss for the confidence you have imposed on me, I promise not to disappoint you. Expect the best from me sir and for that fool who wants to cause you sleepless nights, his days on earth are numbered.

Boss

Now you guys should get out of my sights and tell Debbie to bring the girls into my inner chamber, I need French massage to calm my mind and nerves.

The guys walk out of the mansion and Ginola sees how moody Scorpion is so he engages him in a conversation to find out what the problem is:

Ginola

Bruv what is the problem, you look depressed?

Scorpion

What game are you trying to play huh?

Ginola

Game? What do you mean by me playing games my guy?

Scorpion

The slow movement of the lion doesn’t make it a weakling, don’t try to double cross me because if you do I won’t think twice to crush you. All the games you were playing inside there, I want you to know that I saw your tactics and I believe now you are happy because you have been elevated to my status but I want you to know that, I have seen, fought and conquered battles much difficult than this case we are facing now. This matter is easy for me, watch your back when walking because you are not safe any longer in this world. Go and inform Debbie that the boss wants to see the girls and herself in his inner chamber. (walks away from Ginola with a straight face)

Ginola

(talking to himself) What did I do wrong? was it wrong for me to let the boss know the issue at hand? Who cares if you are angry with what I said, after all, I was in this cartel long before you joined. You think because you were first a land guard you are criminally minded than me if you don’t know I was once a pick pocket who graduated to become an armed robber before I later became an assassin, I have robbed and killed many people than you have ever done so chill out my friend. Everyone for himself God for us all.

Episode 52

Quincy

Bro, this is where I live, for now, it’s not luxurious or big but let’s just manage it for now and feel at home. I know when the society and the world hear our story in future, they will never envy any rich man. I always say that jealousy and envy are the tools of the devil that he uses to expand his territory. But what are you doing in this nurses scrubs, hope it is not what am thinking?

Michael Ansah

Did you say luxurious or big? Man, you should be proud of yourself for what you have and have been able to achieve, don’t we have the same certificate? Am I not coming to squat at your end for some time so I try to organise myself?

Quincy

I know but I just won make you know the matter for ground, maybe your expectations were high as you were coming.

Michael Ansah

My friend stop whining and be grateful for the little mercies God has been showering on you, am not a lady who you should try pleasing, even if you were sleeping in an uncompleted house or kiosk, I will still join you without complaining. Am here for us to join forces to make money so don’t worry, it is the end that matters and not the beginning, been alive up till now is a miracle.

Quincy

Aha that reminds me, so where did you go last night after you made me a watchman all night? For you I fear you more than Messi and CR7 even on the pitch, tell me which lady hosted you last night and why are you in nurses scrubs?

Michael Ansah

What are you thinking about Mr man? My hands and mind remains very clean, if not for this nurses scrubs like I will be a dead man by now. My brother be very grateful to God for my life and help me convey God’s praises and adorations to Him, it is a big miracle for me to be alive from yesterday all the way to today.

Quincy

You have been beating about the bush since you started talking go straight to the point my brother.

Michael Ansah

Bro when coming to the city yesterday a guy double crossed me and took my seat in a bus I was supposed to board to the city, I tried to oppose him for him to relinquish the seat but he threatened me that he will beat me up. As a result of that so alighted from the bus intending not to come to the city on a bad note. Later I got a 4×4 car coming to Accra so I joined the car and after some miles into the journey we came to meet the bus I was supposed to board in a ditch gutted with fire, my brother no one escaped to tell his or her story.

Quincy

Yeah I think I heard that story in the evening news bulletin last night. I was bothered but hearing from you made me okay but I still want to know where you slept last night and why you in nurses scrubs?

Michael Ansah

The game is been brought to your house so why are you rushing to injure yourself outside. When we got to Accra last night I decided to call  you to meet me and pick me up. Unfortunately the phone went off during the call as a result of low battery . I picked a taxi to drop me at that restaurant close to the school and the car stopped along the bush before the houses on the path. The driver tried all he could but the car wouldn’t just start, I had no option than to walk since no car was coming that way, my brother. After walking some distance on the lonely road, I saw a car headlight approaching, I wanted to stop the car and ask for a ride but my instincts told me to hide so I went into the bush and the very place I was hiding the car stopped infront of me and some fearful men in black got down from the car holding guns in their hands.

Quincy

Allahuakbar, hope they didn’t see you?

Michael Ansah

No my brother, but hmmmm they brought out a guy who had been blindfolded and shortly another car came from the opposite direction, a middle aged man came down and judging from the middle aged man’s statement the one they had blindfolded was his worker but he had absconded with the man’s money and concealment, I mean they were drug dealers and right in my sight inside the bush I was hiding, the middle aged man shot the blindfolded guy in the chest three times and he fell down dead.

Quincy

My goodness so what happened next bro?

Michael Ansah

Well, all this while I was recording what was going on with a very sophisticated phone I was having on me.

Quincy

Ah but your phone was off so what sophisticated phone are you talking about?

Michael Ansah

When we(I and the people in the 4×4 car) got to the accident scene I stumbled on a phone there. I later got to know that it was for the guy who took my seat in the bus, on the street was a big tree and per my calculation, the driver of the bus tried to dodge the tree and he lost control, the bus somersaulted and fell in the ditch.

Quincy

Oh okay, I now get the picture as to how you got the sophisticated phone. So what happened next?

Michael Ansah

Charlie, from nowhere some ants started biting me from my hideout and it made me make a sound which got the attention of the bad guys. The middle aged man ordered them to chase after me and bring my body to him whether dead or alive. The guys gave me the chase of my life and that started firing their guns at me. The first bullet nearly entered my arm  but I was lucky because I fell. The phone fell from my hand and since time was not on my side, I didn’t bother to search for it in the dark, I dropped my bag so that I could run effectively and swiftly. In no time another gunshot came through and this time it hit my thigh and I felt it all over, something in me told me not to give up when I heard car horns blurring some few meters away from me. I gathered renewed strength and headed to the street, as I got to the street no one was willing to stop his or her car for me so I jumped into the street and I was knocked down by a lady who came down from her car to help me to the hospital, these bad guys didn’t give up and they were still firing at us. The lady helped me into her car and drove me to the hospital where the bullet was taken out of my thigh and my injuries were taken care of. At dawn one of the nurses came to check up on me in the private ward I was kept to give me an injection which will put me to sleep for some time, I outsmarted him and injected him with the injection meant for me, I took his dress and placed him on my bed. When I got down the bad guys had disguised themselves as police detectives and were at the hospital to finish what they couldn’t end the previous night.

Quincy

My God so how did you escape from them?

Michael Ansah

Great question my brother, I was confused but I had to summon the courage and act like a brave dude, I bumped into their leader who asked for my help to locate the ward which had people with gun shot wound or injury. I seized that opportunity and gave him a wrong direction to the last floor of the hospital where only women and babies were. You can’t believe that, that idiot gave me a hundred cedis for the direction. All because I told him that people with gunshot injuries or wounds were kept at a  secret place in our hospital, he was so grateful for my assistance and I managed to escape from the hospital but before leaving the hospital, I saw a damsel who was eyeing me with a burning desire in her eyes.

Quincy

You and women issue, even when your life was in danger you were still eyeing a pretty lady. So how did you manage to call me with your phone since it went off the previous night?

Michael Ansah

As I woke up, I saw my phone on charge at the private ward I was lying. I don’t know who placed the phone on charge but the person did me a lot of good, the money that idiot gave me was what I used in transporting myself to this place easily.

Quincy

Woooow indeed the good Lord has been merciful to you and I believe that for being alive now God has something bigger ahead for you. Let me get you something to eat and after that, you go and take a cold shower, once again feel at home.

Quincy prepares breakfast and as they were eating, he switched his television on and breaking news was been aired.

TV Anchor

Yester night the police got a tip off from some army officers concerning the death of a young man. When the police got to the crime scene they found out that, the deceased was one of the notorious drug peddlers that they had on their topmost wanted list. He was a member of the strong cartel group in the country and as to what led to his untimely death it is unknown now. We promise to get you more information concerning the mysterious death of the youngman whose name has been withheld for now. So, what at all is happening in this country.

Michael Ansah

Guy that is the person whose execution I witnessed last night.

Quincy

Jessssssus Christ my brother then you are in a deep shit oh, I believe these people are still looking for you and they will go any length to get you either dead or alive.

All of a sudden there was a very heavy knock on Quincy’s door…….

Episode 53

As soon as the knock came through Kwaku Mike jumped on his feet and dropped the glass he had in his hand.

Michael Ansah

Oh my God, have these people managed to track me to this place also? Quincy our end has come oooo, sorry for putting you in such crisis when you were peacefully living your life. Ah God!!! God why did you bring me this far to forsake me in the middle of the journey, gosh so I am not going to see my mom and sisters again?

Quincy

Hey, get a hold of yourself and be a man, see come let me hide you somewhere in the room, mmmm go to the washroom and hide there. No… no… no come back here, you will be spotted easily. Mmmm I think hiding under my bed will be better or maybe my wardrobe, no that place is also another place that you will be seen easily by those idiots.

Michael Ansah

Gosh!!! So what do we do now? You living in a storey building so I can’t jump and there is nowhere that I can hide in here. Bro am very confused and scared ooooo?

Quincy

Mike, just be calm for some seconds so that I come up with something, stop that incoherent and emotional ranting like a class one child. See “when the going gets tough the tough gets going”, you see the deep freezer there in the corner, get inside it. No one will suspect you of entering into a working deep freezer, it will be very cold in there but please for the sake of our lives just endure it until they leave.

Michael Ansah

Hmmmm I guess I don’t have any option for now so I will go and hide in there but please don’t let them get me.

Back at the Addo’s residence:

Mr Addo

Hmmmmmm, Opana your request is too much but as the saying goes “if you want something you have never gotten before, you do something you haven’t done before”. I haven’t bought any land as expensive as yours before but I will try and beat all odds and pay for your land, I will sign a cheque for you to cash at the bank the moment you hand over the land documents to me.

Mrs Pearl Addo

Honey but you can’t do that, this land is very expensive and you should have bargained a little for him to reduce the price a bit.

Opana

(giving Pearl a stern look) Madam don’t try to be an obstacle in this matter, your husband has agreed to my offer and if you think it’s too much a price, then let me go and deal with someone else.

Mr Addo

Opana you don’t have to be angry for nothing, an agreement has been reached between the two of us so don’t take anything personal. Sweetheart, please don’t do anything to ruin our chances of getting Opana’s lands, whatever the problem is, we will resolve it later.

Opana

If you say so, Mr Addo, I will get the documents ready at my lawyer’s end and please when coming kindly come with physical cash and not any form of cheque. It was nice doing business with you sir.

Opana steps out of Mr Addo’s house feeling very excited with the deal he has been able to pull through. He calls his wife to enquire about their daughter’s condition and she tells Opana that their daughter some few minutes ago regained consciousness and that she has been crying ever since she woke up.

Opana

So, what are the doctors saying now?

Akua Yankey

The doctor said it will be proper for us to take drastic measures so we get her out of this mess. The sad thing is that she can’t even recognise me anymore and I doubt if she can recognise you also.

Opana

Don’t worry my dear, I am on my way to the hospital so I will join you soon at her ward.

Akua Yankey

Okay, honey so please did you get the money for our daughter’s surgery?

Opana

I didn’t get it but I and the man have been able to reach an agreement where we will be signing some agreement documents after which the money will be released to me.

Akua Yankey

Ah, may the name of the Lord be praised, I will be waiting for you at her ward.

Opana

Okay, see you soon then and remember not to shed tears over there, what she needs from you now is encouragement and motivation and not any form of tears for her to break down.

Akua Yankey

Okay my dear, I will be waiting for you. (call ends)

Back at Quincy’s end:

Quincy

(standing behind the door inside the room) Who is that knocking my door like he is a carpenter. Who are you looking for?

The knock comes again and this time around it is even heavier and louder than the first one. Quincy who is now sweating and getting much worried with what is taking place but he had to take chances and open the door.

 

Unknown Person

(screaming) Surprise!!! Surprise!!! Surprise!!!

Quincy

Ah so it’s you that made my blood pressure go up like that, please don’t do that again.

Unknown Person

So, why are you sweating like that and why did it take you so long to come and open the door? Hope you have not brought in another girl to warm your bed because I won’t allow that and I will beat that lady mercilessly.

Quincy

Ah what do you mean by that, are you trying to insinuate that am cheating on you or am flirting around?

Unknown Person

Well am sorry my love, Happy Birthday to you my Prince charming. Now give me way so I can come in with my birthday gifts.

Quincy

(closing the door behind him) Eeeeiiii can you believe I forgot that today is my birthday? Come here my baby girl and give me a birthday kiss.

Unknown Person

Mmmmm you don’t know the plans I have for you, today I will make you beg for mercy on that bed. I will make you scream your head off today, now am coming to give you my special birthday kiss.

The lady and Quincy engaged themselves in a very romantic mood which made him forget his friend inside the deep freezer. Meanwhile, Kwaku Mike was praying inside the deep freezer for the bad people to leave Quincy’s end because he was freezing inside and was just hoping that his friend will come to his rescue soon. The romance became intense with the two love birds, Quincy all of a sudden lifted his lover up and took her to the bed, they hungrily started undressing and as he took his lover pant’s off and was about to jump on her, an unknown ringtone filled the room and immediately she pushed him aside and wore her pant.

Quincy

Baby what is the problem, why are you stopping us from this wonderful thing we have started?

Unknown Person

I knew you were not alone in this room that is why it took you a very long time to open the door and see how you were sweating when you opened the door. Today I will catch that lady and deal with her drastically without mercy, who should suffer all these years with you for someone to come and enjoy.

Quincy

Baby what are you trying to insinuate? Why are you accusing me wrongly for something that I know nothing of?

Unknown Person

Don’t baby me you cheat, you have been cheating on me and you blindfold me with your sweet words always. Today that lady will see, where did you hide her? You slut you better come out from where Quincy is hiding you before I fish you out myself, you have been reaping where you did not sow, your cup is full today. Quincy

Unknown Person

(turns around and sees the bowls Quincy and Kwaku Mike used) Ah see when did you start to eat the same food in two different bowls? You see your cup has run over today, unfortunately for you, I caught you on your birthday cheating. Shame on you.
