A particularly long shard of glass pierced the foot of Madam Rakia, and she wailed with agony and crashed to her knees and hands.
Okakuo bellowed with a mixture of rage, horror and grief as he watched the glass pieces piercing his mother’s knees and hands, and the woman screamed with pain.
Temitayo Anubi screamed and swung his sword in a vicious arc down on the bowed neck of Madam Rakia, decapitating her head completely!
Okakuo Agbons roared like an animal and trembled in the chair as his mother’s head rolled on the glass fragment and blood geysered out of her neck onto his legs. He bowed his head and screamed behind the gag.
Juliet Onyinye guffawed with glee and did a small gig of happiness.
The enraged Temitayo pointed his sword at the devastated Okakuo.
“Tomorrow, you will be castrated and burned piece by piece in the Dayo Square as a lesson to all other stupid men of this accursed land!” he said coldly.
He turned and left the room, dragging Juliet with him.
Leke Olugbade Bally nodded with approval, his cold eyes surveying the carnage in the room with delight as he licked his lips. His tongue was a long, whitish thing that was split into three like some hideous snake. A grey mist rose from the bodies of Madam Rakia and Abiodun Moshe, although no one present saw this, and they fused and entered Leke Olugbade Bally’s mouth, and he inhaled deeply, swallowing the essence of the corpses.
His body shook greatly, and he exhaled with satisfaction, and his eyes glowed a bit brighter as he left the room.
And then, a second later, the bodies of Madam Rakia and Abiodun Moshe turned completely black, as if they had been burnt to coal!
The last to leave was Stephen Skandy. He looked at Kelly Philip for a while, and then he sighed greatly and went out of the room.
The door swung shut, and the lock turned in it.

Immediately, Kelly Philip picked up a long shard of glass and crawled on the floor toward Okakuo. Working grimly and defying the pain as the glass cut through her palm, she sawed into the cords binding Okakuo’s hand until it finally snapped free.
Okakuo reached up and pulled the gag from his mouth, and then he quickly untied his legs.
“Quickly, my son, escape through the window!” Kelly Philip said fearfully. “This room is in the eastern wing of the palace. The window is glass, and although the height is great, there is a moat directly below the window, and you can fall into it! Hurry, escape!”
Okakuo moved toward his mother’s head, picked it up, and kissed her on both cheeks as his tears fell down in torrents. Next, he pulled up her chain, still lying around her headless neck, and turned toward Princess Uvbi Akenzua, who was still wailing pathetically at the horror she had witnessed.
“Kak!” she whispered tremulously as her tears drowned her. “Oh, my love, I’m so sorry! So terribly sorry! It is all my fault, my love! Please, find it in your heart to forgive me!”
He had stopped crying, and on his face was a look of cold fury.
He bent and kissed her hard, and then he stepped back and looked at her.
“It is not your fault, my darling, for what will be, will be!” he said quietly. “I’ll revenge my mother, and set you free, or I’ll die trying! Now, I must leave you, my love, but I will be back!”
He embraced the weeping Kelly Philip gently.
“Thank you, my Queen,” he said. “I promise you this, you have not heard the last of Okakuo Agbons.”
He picked up the metal chair and rammed it into the glass across the window, shattering it. He climbed on the sill and launched himself into the darkness for the long, horrible fall into the moat below.

When Nneka Okez rounded the bend, she came to a complete stop, and had to blink twice, and then her mouth opened wide with a shock so complete that she sank slowly to her knees.
Prince Temidayo David Dayo was standing just in front of the door, apparently having just come out of the room. He had unwound the bandages around his legs, and was presently unwinding the one across his chest. He threw the bandage away and stood staring at Chinua Joshua and his gang without any expression on his handsome face.
And there was absolutely no wound on any part of his body!
If anything, he looked even more handsome and fit than she had seen previously! He stood naked, his body perfectly formed and chiselled, covered by a wonderful spread of manly hair. His skin was clear and unblemished, his face achingly handsome.
Nneka’s eyes were literally popping out of their sockets!
She had not known that this Temi was such an incredible-looking man!
He was, indeed, the best specimen of manhood that ever walked the surface of the Dayo Empire!
Chinua Joshua and his gang had all stopped, and were gaping at Temidayo with disbelieving and shocked eyes.
“Is that King Demi?” Jabel asked in a choked-up voice.
Chinua Joshua was breathing hard, but he snorted and spat on the ground.
“Looks like him, but this one is a kid!” he said nastily. “Probably a spawn off the king’s fornicating antics, an illegal child from one of his whores!”
Jabel’s eyes glinted savagely.
“A son of King Demi?” he hissed and spat on the ground too. “That bastard of a king imprisoned my father, and I never had the chance to revenge!”
“It is your chance now, Jabel, my trusted dog!” Chinua Joshua said savagely. “He dared put his paws on my Nneka? Go slice off his balls, but leave his neck for me! I’ll personally decapitate him!”
“No!” Nneka shouted weakly. “Chinua, please don’t harm him! I’ll do anything you want if you leave him alone, I beg of you! I’ll go with you wherever you want to take me, and you can have me as many times as you want…but, please, spare his life! He’s but a child!”
Chinua Joshua looked down at Nneka and spat on her bloodied face.
“You whore!” he hissed savagely. “You offer me nothing! I’ll take you and make you a harlot, because it seems that is what you want! As for this little turd…cut off his balls, Jabel!”
Jabel drew his sword and swung it round in his hand, and then he bellowed shrilly and rushed at the defenceless Temi.

“Run, Temi!” Nneka cried bitterly and with horror as pain slashed through her heart at the prince’s imminent death. “Temi, please run! Flee! Oh, Temi…run!”
And Prince Temidayo did a most unexpected thing: he walked forward slowly to meet Jabel’s onslaught.
The thug made a wide sweeping arc across Temi’s groin with his sword, aiming for his genitals.
“Dian,” Temi said, startling himself because he didn’t know what he had just said, but his body seemed to move effortlessly sideways, missing the sweep of Jabel’s slash, and he continued the spin until his left elbow slammed into Jabel’s left temple with such devastating power that blood erupted from Jabel’s nose and mouth instantly.
Dazed and absolutely shocked, Jabel dropped to one knee, turned his head with sudden fear in his eyes to look into the cold eyes of Temidayo.
“Kuta,” Temi whispered again, and the edge of his right hand smashed into the side of Jabel’s neck, breaking it instantly, and the lifeless body of Jabel fell limply to the ground as more blood poured from his nose and mouth, his eyes permanently frozen in horror.
The whole incident hadn’t taken more than a minute, and Jabel lay dead.
“Ha!” Nneka Okez breathed with sudden shock, and she looked dazedly at Temi, who suddenly looked stricken by his violent act, and he took quick steps backward.
His handsome face was suddenly filled with horror as he stared at the dead body of Jabel.
“No, no, no!” he whispered with disgust. “Oh, no! What have I done?”
His back came up against the wall of the house, and his face was shatterd as tears came to his eyes.
“Get him!” Chinua screamed, and two of his thugs screamed, drew their swords and rushed toward Temi. The third one stopped beside Jabel and felt his pulse, and when he saw that Jabel was dead, he looked at the trembling Temi with a sudden jolt of fear.
“Stop!” Temi said calmly, holding out his hand toward them and shaking his head once. “Stop and leave this place, if you value your life. If you come any closer, I’ll kill you!”
