CHAPTER 17
They came at Temi with drawn swords, except one of them who was approaching from the right and who was holding no sword.
That unarmed attacker was Macrex Wills.
He spun in the air once, and then his right leg spun for a hard kick against Temidayo’s head.
Temi moved like air on rhythm as he grabbed the extended leg of Macrex, and then he turned and slammed Macrex so hard on the hard ground that thick dust rose in the air, and Macrex lay there with droplets of blood in the corners of his lips.
The rushing attackers paused momentarily to see their leader handled with such savage brutality! No one had ever beaten Macres in unarmed combat, and for him to be dispatched so effectively and so simply filled them with great shock indeed.

Another man screamed and lunged at Temi with his sword extended toward his neck. Temi spun away from the tip of the sword, caught the man’s arm, and threw him hard on the ground again. His leg shot out straight into an attacker’s jaw, breaking it instantly and dropping the man.
The attackers paused momentarily, obviously shocked and confused, and then they came toward Temidayo, who had turned his back and was walking toward a guava tree growing in front of one of the dilapidated houses.
And then he did a most unbelievable thing!
He reached out with his left hand, grabbed the guava tree by its neck, and then broke off the neck with all its branches with a snap of his hand!
His attackers came to a complete stop at the sight of this incredible act of strength.
But Temi was not done.
He reached out, grabbed the middle of the guava tree and pulled it clear off the ground with its roots.
Angrily, he broke off the base of the tree, and now he had a stout club in his hand. He held the trunk by its middle with his two hands, and then he peeled the tree into two halves, and he turned to face his attacker with the weapons in his hand.
With bleak furious eyes, he began to move toward the six standing men!
The sheer and amazing show of brute strength had paralyzed them, and they stared at him with dismay as he swung the sapling in a wide arc with his right hand, smashing three of the men through the middle! The force of the strike threw the men forcibly into the air to smash with sickening thuds against the buildings!
He turned toward the remaining three men, who looked at each other with acute fear, and then with one accord they turned and fled down the alley. The girl was still standing at the end of the alley and watching Temidayo with eyes that had gone wide with incredulous fear.

The mist of fury slowly cleared from Temi’s eyes as he watched the men on the ground groaning. He sighed deeply, and then he dropped the saplings and began to walk toward the two on the ground nearest to him. They thought he meant them harm, and they began to moan as they tried to move away from him.
He looked up suddenly and saw that a little golden carriage was parked at the entrance of the street, and its door had opened, and an elderly man in expensive robes had stepped out. He had grey hair, beard, and moustache, and he had a turban around his head. Just then a gust of wind whipped the hoodie off Temi’s head, exposing his proud and incredibly handsome face.
The elderly man paused suddenly and gasped, his eyes opening wide with absolute shock when he beheld the prince of Dayo.
He quickly fell to his right knee and bowed his head.
The attackers of Temi also made gasping sounds and those who could quickly fell to their knees. Temi stared, sick that he had just given himself away, and that the rumours would quickly go around the Aradise.
However, the golden door of the carriage opened again, and Commander Prosper stepped out, followed by the huge figure of Daniel Godwin. The two of them walked quickly toward him, and Daniel reached out and pushed Temi’s hoodie up, hiding his face.
“What’s going on here?” Temi asked quietly.
“The Butcher trapped us, my Lord, and captured us,” Commander Freeman said swiftly. “He didn’t believe our story, although he recognized me. He decided to test you to see if you have the gifts of the kings. But I believe the sight of you has even convinced him more than your fighting prowess.”
“I see,” Temidayo said calmly. “What now?”
“Bid them get to their feet,” Daniel said with a giggle.
Temi stretched his hand to the aged man.
“Arise, please,” he said.
The distinguished man got to his feet and came quickly toward Temi, and then he put both hands on the shoulders of the young prince.
There were tears shimmering in the man’s eyes.
“Today, I believe the Oracles!” he said in a trembling voice. “I see my friend and Lord, King Demi, back from the dead, I see hope for my beloved Dayo…and I see happiness for my heart. My name is Emmanuel Suncity, my Lord, and your servant is at your service! Please, pardon an ungrateful whelp for trying to put you to the test!”
Temi smiled kindly.

“A friend of my father is definitely my friend and uncle,” he said calmly. “Forgive me, for hurting your men. They shall be healed.”
“My Lord, my Prince, please come with me!” Emmanuel Suncity said. “There are many, many things we need to talk about.”
***
Emmanuel Suncity the Butcher had a hideout in the hills of the Aradise.
It was nestled deeply in a little valley protected by a great impenetrable cluster of trees, and only accessible by a myriad network of tracks, paths, and secret passageways.
They were unaware, however, of a huge owl-like bird that flew high above them, its red eyes fixed relentlessly on their progress, its eyes recording every bit of their movements to Leke Olugbade Bally.
That hideous man was standing in his horrible room inside the palace and peering at one wall which seemed to be emitting a lot of cloudy smoke within which were the images the creature was relaying to him.
Prince Temidayo, however, was not shown clearly to Leke Olugbade Bally. He could see all of them clearly, but Temidayo appeared like a hazy, indistinct, vapour-like entity.
“Who is that thing?” Leke Olugbade Bally growled with confusion and increasing fury. “Show me the real face of that slice of cloud! Why can’t I see him? Show me him!”
But even when the great bird dropped lower for a better view, Temi was still shown as a dash of cloud, making Leke Olugbade Bally devastatingly furious.
The buildings in Emmanuel Suncity’s hideout were made of stout adobe logs and fortified with cement. Temidayo was shown into a beautiful little log house by Emmanuel Suncity himself, and when they got to the main bedroom, he found that the bed was surrounded by four incredibly beautiful women clad in only sheer white panties and with only lovely chain tassels on their breath-taking nipples and round, firm breasts.
Temi smiled and turned puzzled eyes on Emmanuel Suncity.
“Ah, naked women,” he said softly. “Perchance, will they stay the night?”
“Your Lord can have twice as many for his relaxation, if he so wishes,” Emmanuel said quickly.
Temi put a grateful hand on the man’s shoulder.
“My aim, at this moment, is to obtain a Mimic Artefact, my dear uncle,” he said softly. “The hunger of my loins has adequately been taken care of already by a most wonderful woman. If you will not be offended, sleeping on this comfortable bed alone will be of immense relaxation to me.”
“And your wish shall always be my command, my Lord,” the elderly man said and gestured to the women to leave.
They did so reluctantly, obviously, cross at having missed the chance to satisfy this regal prince.
“The Mimic Artefact we need should be a strong one, my Lord,” Emmanuel Suncity said with a deep scowl. “For that, we need the eyes of a very wild beast. Lion, tiger, cheetah, python, king cobra, anaconda…animals like that. Such beasts have been rare around Aradise for a while, but we shall go deep into the forest, and perhaps the Creator of All Things shall provide us one.”
“I pray so too, Uncle,” Temi said as they returned to the comfortable sitting-room where Prosper Freeman and Daniel Godwin were waiting.
“The Grand Oracle sent a young man to come and wait for you here,” Emmanuel Suncity said quickly. “We found him and brought him here. A young warrior called Okakuo Agbons who used to be in the army of the traitor Temitayo Anubi, and a man who loves your sister.”
“Ah, quite amazing piece of news,” Temidayo said excitedly. “By all means, and with your permission, let me see such a man!”
Suncity went to the door and ordered that Okakuo should be brought in.
“Your handle, The Butcher,” Temi said as he sat down wearily. “Perhaps you used to sell meat in another lifetime?”
Prosper Freeman laughed at that and looked at the grave face of Emmanuel Suncity.
“Alas, my Lord, Emmanuel Suncity was a butcher man of a different sort,” he said with a giggle. “There was a crop of individuals known as The Butchers. Whenever there was a problem on Earth that the King of Dayo couldn’t come through to perform, problems created by wicked humans, the Butchers were sent through a portal to earth to assassinate these targeted humans. No one has more kills than Emmanuel Suncity.”
Temi looked at the man with sudden discomfort, and that was the same time that Okakuo Agbons entered the sitting room, took one look at Temidayo, and then he uttered a startled cry of stunned shock as he gazed at this apparition that was the exact replica of King Demi!
“Oh, dearest ancestors, save my mind from going mad!” Okakuo Agbons whispered, and then he quickly fell on both knees and bowed his forehead to the ground. “My Lord, I am your servant.”
“Arise, my young friend, and come sit with me,” Temi said warmly. “Come tell me news of my sister, and especially my mother!”
***
And, in his room, an agitated Leke Olugbade Bally had levitated slightly into the air. His arms were stretched out wide, and his wild growth of white hair was standing straight on his head like hackles, and his green eyes glowed a devilish and bloody red now!
All around in the room, many white horrible demons seemed to be gliding and floating, swirling in frenzy and whispering horrible words in horrible voices.
Leke Olugbade Bally suddenly opened his mouth, and thick smoke emitted from his mouth, nostrils, and ears.
“Descend into that valley, you dark vile creature!” he hissed furiously. “Find them all! Kill them all! Spare no soul…especially the formless one! Killlllll hiiiiiimmmmm!”

And immediately, high above the valley of Emmanuel Suncity, that vile bat-like animal began to transform rapidly! It changed into a hideous, huge, long and horrible three-headed anaconda, and it plummeted downward rapidly toward the valley, ready to wreak only the most horrid kind of killing spree ever witnessed!
